Glad it's so simple. You should probably write to the American courts, I bet they've never ever thought of trying any of that.
Her beliefs arent the same as mine. What I've wrote is my opinion and in my opinion, the guy deserves to be put down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not when America is run by drug companies and everything is for profit. It's in the interest of lawyers to drag cases out to make more money. Capping them would make sure they didn't dick about longer than needed
may well be passed but it wont work. Juries will have members opposed to capital punishment or who don't want to be responsible for someone being hung - as a result they would find a defendant 'not guilty.'
Or it would give the lawyers a conflict of interest between their own interests and their client's interests and prejudice their access to justice. In any case the prosecution will take a lot more time over a death penalty case anyway, as the state will not want to wrongfully execute people.
Aye. I do get what you are saying. In terms of this. It's an open and shut case. The chances of him not being convicted of murder have to be literally 0%
Some of the posts on the death penalty are exactly why I've ended up thinking we need the EU. If people want to leave Europe so we can bring back capital punishment I despair
Unfortunately no British government will ever bring back the death penalty regardless of the outcome of the referendum.
There are certain crimes that do really make you sick. This is one of them. But capital punishment isn't something I agree with. Nor is corporal punishment. These are things meted out in the likes of Saudi, and I find it abhorrent. It's meant to be a deterrent but you only need look at Saudi or even more so, the United States to see how ineffective it is. I prefer these criminals to be removed from society. So jail it is. My only issue with that? They're not sent their long enough in most instances. I mean, this lunatic who murdered Jo Cox is clearly not worth a wannk. So he'd be inside until he pops his clogs naturally if it was down to me. And he'd be in a small room, four walls and a bucket to piss/**** in. Because whilst I'm not into violating human rights, I don't think such as him count as human and so I don't believe he needs a TV, access to books, fresh air etc. Four walls, 23 hour bang up, only allowed out for a shower and proper ***** meals. If he needs exercise, he's 23 hours in his cell to do some squats. Each to their own like.
I agree with you in principle Andy. I support the death penalty for the most heinous of crimes so it would only apply to a very very small minority but it's never going to happen so the next best thing is what you suggest. What is the point in rehabilitation for those who have committed crimes so disgusting that they will never be released. If they are to be kept alive at the expense of the tax payer them let them be punished properly.
Amen to that, brother. I think you relinquish any rights when you choose to shoot, stab and physically attack another human being, unprovoked, in the street and shout brain dead messages of a political/racial manner.
the death penalty may not be the deterrent some people think it is,but then neither is life imprisonment, killing people in the manor this ******* did and others like the lee rigby murderers should have the death penalty imo,i'd also include peado's who have killed and any other sick deranged tw@ts that get caught, the world should be rid of scum like these and simply taking their liberty away isnt enough for me. I'd execute them by hanging then once the rope has been bought nobody else is profiting.
Completely different and the fact you even compare them makes me believe you are below average in terms of intelligence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's a rather cavalier attitude towards a human life. Given the number of people who have been convicted of murder and then later exonerated it is essential that we as a society ensure that there is a thorough appeals process. This will inevitably incur extra cost.
Well that's your opinion against everything she stood and fought for ,where'd the democracy there ? Also what's the difference with one death to another if its pre meditated ?. Who deters whether one murder is worse than another? The family had already asked for calls for retribution to be stifled as it abhors them. Who says jail isn't a punishment ? Ask Ian Brady.
My comments based on what are clear cut cases. Such as this pillock. And he had such a great enthusiastic view of the life of a poor innocent woman who to our knowledge hasn't done much wrong in life.
Just out of interest , why do you think its different ? Just because in Ireland it was Christians killing Christians? I cant see how it is different to be honest, except there are very few black/Asian people in the UDF/IRA !!
