They are both my favourite. In fact I've spoke to Peter, owner of Picturedrome about having a few of my ashes " pointed" into wall when I go to my maker. Ive been to Brudenell, in middle of back to back houses, over 50 times, and love it. Regarding PIL...saw him 2 year ago at 02 Academy in Leeds. Just stood at a "pulpit" and preached haha...in a perverse way it was mesmerising
Course it's not - it's an old working men's club in Birdwell. It's a brilliant asset to the town that should be supported. I thought the price for OCS was obscene, but I felt compelled & happy to pay it because it was happening 2 miles down the road.
I wasn't pulling it to bits. In my opinion, its not a good venue for watching a band. I've only been once, and it was full over capacity, far too hot and the sound/view of the stage weren't very good. I've been to far better venues. I've been to some that were worse. Its not one that I would go out of my way to go to again. Its also frustrating because despite being so close, I'd be looking at £30 in taxi fares or over an hour on the bus each way to get there so I can't even get a drink. Just because its the only one, doesn't mean it can't be a lot better - although it is limited by the physical building.
I love the Picturedrome at Holmfirth. I once went five times in one year. I haven't been for ages though, my mate stopped gigging and he drives I don't so game over for me.
