Would it have been in BFC's interest to let Ritchie talk? Doh, let's think about it. If he went we get compo for the rest of his contract, about &pound;40K say. If he stays and we sack him 3 weeks later then we pay him compo for the rest of his contract, say &pound;40K. So we are a minimum of &pound;40K down and a possible &pound;80K down. </p>
