He last played for the USA 4 years ago so he's an ex international. What there is to grumble about and a fact that hasn't changed is that the powers that be have after having had two transfer windows to sign a goal scoring striker didn't and once again are scrapping about at the end of a window making panic signings. Please don't try and make this anything more than what it is a panic signing made to try and appease a disgruntled fanbase and quieten a manager who feels he's been hung out to dry..I really hope he comes good I really do but it's a hope not an expectation.
I'm not overly concerned about his lack of goals as odd as that sounds. After thinking about it a little more, I see someone like him as being more of a catalyst to bring better performances out of other people. If he is a positive, front foot, pacey, take a man on winger/ striker then it will at least entertain the fans, speed up our play, get us moving a bit quicker up the pitch. I hope he plays on Saturday, I think he could be a good addition.
For sure - but there were plenty of Blues fans pointing that out when we signed him. Everybody still thought he was exactly what we needed.
Maybe not but it shouldn’t be an issue that takes particularly long to sort, it’s just a player registration thing. No work permit issue, he’ll have a British passport from when he was at Bradford and Farsley - or is entitled to one at least if not, with his mother being English. It does smack a little of desperation though only giving him a five month deal; you’d think they’d at least have an option on him if they rated him.
He was doing his fitness tests earlier at Oakwell, I usually go down every Thursday to play football with the mental health team. He looked quite fast. I would say he's 5 ft 7 maybe a bit smaller. Personally I think he will play alongside DKD behind the striker
Because of the way we’re set up, a lot of times the only ball on for the wing back is a long ball forward into the channel (there should be more options than this but hey ho). If he had genuine pace, then this should help us execute that ball more successfully, which would be an upgrade!
Well at least he should be able to run at players rather than pass it backwards. Anything that brings a little more excitement to our forward line.
I think this is valid. The season is done. If you had the chance to sign a real ‘difference maker’ then fair enough. Adding someone just for numbers as this appears to be seems a bit hollow. Hopefully the lad smashes it though.
