Obviously nowhere near the same level but has a very Cole Palmer esque look to the way he plays. Has a similar frame and style to the way he moves and plays. Well based on that compilation anyway.
Just a heads up. We’ve had dealings with this club in the past. And they leak everything to their local journalists. They do so to encourage more bids/interest. So it’ll be 100% legit (that we are in for him). And you can guarantee the lad will want the move. We shall see.
Left footed right winger. if we are playing high press (Val style) then Connor will have to switch both wingers after 60 minutes, so 4 and a utility (Farrugia?) sounds about right
Supposedly has a £250K release clause if X is to be believed. If so, guys....fu++ing pay it! We do this routinely. Offer peanuts, it gets rejected, becomes public knowledge, another club pips us to the player.
All of those shots are from his Bath City days. He did score an absolute cracker for Cheltenham Town away at Crewe at the end of last season. I have seen him play for Cheltenham in his early days after his move from Bath City. He looked very raw and a bit ponderous, but he can certainly finish and has a bit of a twinkle in his boots. If they want more than £250k, I wouldn't bother. He might make it big time, but needs another League Two season to prove that he is worth more ........in my humble opinion.
Apologies - it was Dulson who scored the cracker, not Thomas. Another from national-league with Bedford Town.
If we rate the lad just pay the £250k, it’s peanuts in the modern game. We’ve not paid a fee yet and offloaded at least 10 from the wage bill including a few big earners. Plus it sounds like we’ve some cash coming from the Brittain sale to Derby that will cover this.
I remember people saying this every 5 minutes about DKD before he joined. There's absolutely no reason why the club shouldn't go in lower and perhaps get cheaper. If he's a high value target for us and we miss out on him, then we can slaughter them.
Maybe it was luck or maybe those that deal with transfers and agents know a bit more than the public. My point was we don’t always lose out on transfer targets.
DKD was statistically the best number 10 in League 2 when we signed him. We did everything we could to sign him. We are attractive as a football club, it’s just other things that goes with it. I believe Hourihane wanted more people he knew at the club players wise but that came with higher wages and more experience but he wants a similar recruitment model to what he experience when he was first at the club under Wilson and Lee Johnson.
There’s an underlying narrative that the club are s*** at everything but that is just not true. Obviously they’re not great at everything either but the negativity seems to build momentum very quickly - human nature I guess.
