All this hysterical hype, can't believe youre all so over the top about an ex Millwall clogger...I never have rated this Jody Morris bloke.
Well I do not think anyone saw that coming. I am well impressed. I know we have not seen his style yet. But his connections seem impressive, hopefully our season turns around on Tuesday. Great news to log on to.
Glad to see we've moved away from the rolling contract concept. To my mind it puts everyone on edge as to whether or not the " rollover" has been signed. This way with an 18 month contract, he knows and we know what has to be done. Be successfull and get a new contract. Fail and it's adios Jose. See we've not moved away from the Head Coach format, so Jose must have bought into the current method of player recruitment. ? Can only wish the lad all the success in the world. Paul who.?
It certainly blows a couple of cockney chancers like the Cowleys out of the water. I know it's a bit pathetic to say it but I took an instant dislike to him lounging on the sofa on last Saturday's Football programme. Too full of himself for me. Well done for dragging the Lincoln sleeping giant (cough) out of the mire but I suspect he might not go any further.
Should be interesting to listen to the different opinions as to our new appointment on Football Heaven tonight.!
Well it's interesting I'll say that. Plus points and not so plus. He's been at some of the top clubs in the world as a coach. And some totally random ones as the main man. Don't think any of us know enough about him to know what to expect or to be confident or downcast. Looking forward to his first interview and his first game in charge. Let's hope he gets us playing some good football and gives it a real go. Sounds like he was the one they wanted all along so fingers crossed the board know his qualities better than we do.
No doubt that the likes Brian the Blade, 2-1 Ken and Mork the Pitsmoor Owl will pop on and give their opinion. I hope that Nudger calls in, interested to hear if the jury is still out on GG after the January window and this appointment.
Mmm ... we'll see, keeping mi powder dry on this. See how he gets us playing before any praising or slagging..
I've always liked the idea of saying, "Listen, you do what you do best, coach the team and players and let the club do all that other 'managerial' stuff. Its always made much more sense than appointing a guy to manage a team and then have him sat in an office for a decent percentage of that time whilst his coaching staff to do the heavy lifting of getting the team playing well, or not. Clearly some managers appointed good coaches and did the business, but I want a guy coaching and being a man manager, not turning up 20 mins before kick-off, saying a few words and then leaving after the game. In light of that this guy is in a similar vein to our last two managers and is a great appointment given his credentials. No guarantee for success mind.
Im OK with this appointment - quick glance at his record he seems like a decent choice. It sounds like he was always our first choice and we did well to keep him out of the media until the deal was done Time will tell whether the club have got it right with this one but we will know more in a few weeks. priority 1 keep us up then if that is achieved kick on next season. Think I will give him more than the Burton game before we make a judgement but hopefully the new manager bounce should get us a couple of wins in the vital next 3 games
20% and 30% win rates in his last 2 roles where he actually had responsibility, think you’ve all got confused which Jose m we have appointed
I just wish there’d been a small amount of press coverage so I could have pushed those wanting a bet in the right direction. I think the clues and stating who it wasn’t did help a few get a good price on him though when he finally hit the oddschecker list. Hopefully he’ll do the business. Looks a good coach on paper.
If we don't beat Burton he's ****, and I will cling to that opinion from that point onwards, and will post that we should sack him on the day of the Champions League trophy parade through town.
