I think that he would be a good signing, but £1 million looks a bit steep, given his lack of first team experience. Actually, he does have a first team squad number (41), so you can only think that Burnley do consider him to be close to first team break through, but would need enough cash to part company with him. I would have thought the deal should look more like £500k down and add-ons to £1 million based on appearances. The aim would be to bring him on behind Styles and Palmer, but have him ready to step up if Styles is sold by next summer. That would make it an excellent piece of business. I am expecting Styles to thrive in the freedom of central midfield this season, especially as he won't be getting neck-ache watching the ball go over his head all the time.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see us change shape throughout the season. If we’re trying to play a bit of football, a two man midfield might get a bit overrun.
"The move is expected to be confirmed in the coming days and is likely to be announced as undisclosed although it is understood that with add-ons the deal could net Burnley around £1million." I generally find that when people say "around"... it's usually less than the figure quoted. It does also cite add ons, so I'd expect an upfront fee (or one staged over contractual length) to be much much less than £1m.
I don't know why, but I'm very optimistic about this signing. I get that he hasn't got bags of experience, but he's got good pedigree, and a solid footballers name.
Don`t think he`d be signing from Burnley`s bench to expect to be on our bench instead - positive move.

I was watching the game V Wolves last season - he got brought on right at the end and immediately gave away a penalty with his first touch. Not saying this as any bearing on him as a player.
