I see why he,s a bit fed up with it, but surely its the badge on the front of the shirt that matters, that,s what us as fans want him to wear with pride and play with pride in
A mountain out of a mole hill, in my opinion. Yes, the club (out of professional courtesy) should have mentioned this to Josh before it was announced publicly that Hammill would be given the number seven shirt next season. Then, if Josh had a problem with it, it could be sorted out in house. That could and should have still been the case, rather than Josh also being unprofessional and airing his grievances in the public domain. It doesn't take much for some people to have a go at the club, so little things like this can be easily avoided with a bit of forethought. It beggars belief that after winning the JP Trophy, clinching promotion at Wembley, signing last season's Player Of The Year on another contract and appointing Hecky in his role full time, an insignificant issue like what number a player is or isn't wearing is even up for debate.
Maybe it's more to do with feeling a bit unwanted at the minute. Played out of position. Loanees picked in front of him then ditched out of his number without a quiet word. We all loved to be loved.
His Dad tweeted and now the tweet has gone for him to 'never mind Josh take the number 8 shirt', being mischievous?
Last season as weird. October and November was definitely the worst consistent team performances I've ever seen from us but. I think we can let Josh off because he was injured.
Controversial point - should Adam have behaved a bit better himself? He knows how important these things are to some players (he himself being one!) but takes his teammate's number without contacting him first. At the same time talking openly in his interview about how tight knit the group is, and how he relishes being the 'elder statesman'. It's all a bit storm in a teacup but it's out there now and threatens to undermine one of our biggest strengths.
Can't remember to be honest I've sort of blocked any game in or around Altrincham out of my mind. He got injured against Cocentry didn't he whenever that was I was there but again I have blocked the date out of my mind filled under Lee Johnson was an incredibly poor manager thank god he's gone.
Did he really tweet that? Insinuating Hourihane was off? If so then that's a proper bell of a tweet to make. Whether true or not, dragging another player into your hissy fit.
This would not have happened in the past as players wore shirts reflecting the position they were playing. However as far as Scowen is concerned, I think he is wrong to go on social media to air his grievance, which I find somewhat childish.
Yeah he 100% tweeted that because I thought the same. I was going to screenshot it and put it on here but decided against it because I had stuff to do. Not sure if Josh's dad knows anymore than us unless he tells his dad absolutely everything but it was a very inciteful thing to put. P.s to Jimmy Cricket Josh got injured against Altrincham, he went into a tackle and did his knee ligaments.
Cheers. To be honest the other stuff is a bit petty and daft. To tweet suggesting the club captain is leaving - that's a step too ****ing far. Bloke needs to wind it in. His son is not BFC. He's a paid employee. If my old man starting tweeting **** about my company (not that anyone would give a fook) I'd be telling him to shut up and leave my career to me
Cheers I remember very little of the dark times. For example Altrincham I remember the cold an impending feeling of doom and the worst performance I've ever seen but not one moment of the match.
