You're a bad influence on me

When you started posting your 'Tonight's Tipple', you mentioned a vast array of beers I'd never heard of. I asked Crystal if she could pick up some of the aforementioned and, invariably, I loved them. Always full of flavour. I might treat myself at Christmas to some of your previous choices.

RE: Northern beer is far from superior these days

You seem to have missed Jennings off your list of decent Northern Brews far superior, mind you a pint of London Pride served with a head on you just can't beat!

West Yorks train booze cruise coming up 13th Dec. Sampling all the decent real ale pubs around the huddersfield area train stations.

Good tetleys, well looked after used to be very good

Was as good as almost everything else when looked after in a high turnover boozer i.e. The Silkstone at one time.

    Oz Clarke

Drinks in my pub all the time, knows far far far too much about tasting wine, and beer for that matter.

Good, friendly bloke though, even if some of his questions are impossible to answer, "Ben are Thornbridge using the same yeast strain as they were 5 years ago?"!

I enjoyed his jaunts with James May, May sent him up something awful.........

Oz Clarke and that plummy bird used to make me laugh when dicussing the perfect wine for any given celebration, Bonfire night wine and you could taste gunpowder, Toffee, woodsmoke, very funny.

They've just finished filming the third series

And this time it's not all about wine. They just go all over the UK to places that produce something, so a few whisky distilleries in Scotland, Harveys Brewery in Sussex, some place that apparantly serves the best pork pies in the England, etc. etc.

Carlsberg in search for Yorkshire brewing partner

Despite closing the Leeds brewery they are hoping to find a suitable replacement in Yorkshire to brew Tetleys for them.
