I like this bit "If they play on the road they are safe! Brilliant! I suspect the issue is that they aren't using jumpers for goalposts though, but bricks etc. and not moving them out of the way when a car comes. Happened for years - kids playing cricket with a dustbin lid and a brick for the wicket, the kids would move out of the way when a car came but left the brick and bin lid so the car still couldn't get round.
RE: Report this morning wants kids to stop putting hands up in class When I was at school the teacher would occasionally ask a kid who hadn't put their hand up.
That's right Then , if the child gave the correct answer , the teacher would give them a bollocking for not putting their hand up when they knew the solution .
somewhere, in the search facility will be a full description of the rules from Jay. He made a point of sending me a PM because I'd gone home before he'd posted it and was livid about it. the gay.
RE: That's right When I do it I give them loads of praise - you tend to find they'll put their hand up next time and have a go! (Y)
When I was a kid, we walked half a mile to the recreation ground, where we played football, cricket etc. Today, regretably, that recreation ground was sold by the council to a developer who built houses on it. Councils and central government have a lot to answer for.
Is that where you can hold the ball between your fists if you aren't "on"? In which case it was called "Punch" around our way, and got banned at our school because, invariably, the last person would get cornered against a wall and the person with the hardest throw would blast the ball at them from close range!
I was lucky in that respect - I lived in Smithies and lived literally a minute from the playing field on Rotherham road - we used to live in there from morning till night - only resurfacing for food. Wouldn't be comfortable with my kids doing that now
So it's "goalposts for goalposts" that have been banned? And how come the kids are still playing? Or for that matter, isn't a photographer taking a picture of a man stood in middle of the street holding a letter also an obstruction?!
