how about an annual award i.e gordon sheppard Sheild <font size="4"><span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">The Gordon Sheppard Shield </span></font>To be awarded annually at the end of the season for the Academy player of the year award as a lasting Memento (Based on the most improved player in the Academy).or <font size="4">as a reward to persons selflessly contributing and doing there bit for the club without any reward.</font></p> Presented annually, but a smaller shield given for keepsakes</p>
The idea it to buy a keepsake or token of respect and appreciation from the BBS. Gordon has had a lot of criticism from people on here during his tenure. God knows Ive had enough telephone calls from him over the last couple of years putting us straight on things. It would be nice to put the record straight and let him know that we appreciate all the hard work he has done for our club and to acknowlege his achievements during his tenure as chairman. Obviously some fans will want to contribute and others won't. That's fine! You can't please everyone - something Gordon will have learned over the last couple of years!
Instead of money - what about a chant at the next home game? "There's only one Gordon Shepherd"</p> Would show him how the majprity of fans feel about hime working his butt off for free to keep the Reds solvent.</p> </p> </p> </p>
RE: Isn't the collection being made by the Supporters Trust? Laura asked if we could put a collection box in the trust office on saturday for the BBS collection.
collection for a departing chairman...??? wholly inappropraite...what happens if you only raise £30....here you go Gordon heres a voucher for HMV.... yes hes done a good job with the finances....and has supported Lauras charity...... but a collection......I just dont agree its appropriate in fact it feels tacky.... I wont be putting in....
According to Ridsdale he lost money when he was Chairman of BFC. So, in that respect, Shepherd has actually had a big rise in income on the previous Chairman. So why a gift too? </p>
RE: According to Ridsdale he lost money when he was Chairman if I remember rightly Riddy was on a six figure salary whilst at Oakwell as was his number 2....lost money my arse....
