Get thi sen off. Buy a decent tent with a sewn in groundsheet, head height, Lots going for decent prices on eBay if you don't want to spend a lot to see if you like it. Cabanons are the rolls Royce of tents a little Cabanon Elzas frame tent you could pick up for leass than £60. Mine cost me £56 from a chap in Doncaster (where else lol!) I didn't use it this time as my sister wanted the Outwell we used last year and as she only has one holiday a year I indulged her! Cabanons are pure cotton canvas frame tents, easy to erect, no flapping about when it's windy, they stay up when up and are cool in the heat and warm when cool.
Once you've been that's it, you'll be hooked.

We usually go to Cornwall in May, but we stop in Hayle near St Ives, in a John Fowler holiday camp. But we are thinking of going to Cornwall next year camping, it is so beautiful down there with some great sites. My mate takes his trailer tent to a site near Holywell Bay, so might try there. Is there any sites you would recommend?

RE: I was in Porthleven last Wednesday

    It's great isn't it?

Compare it to Praa Sands where everyone seems to go - crowds, noise. brimming over etc

It's like a jewel of the Atlantic. I love it.
