Definitely need to spend money to improve the bogs - about £2.50 would allow them to make a massive improvements! I like the West Stand as it is. Thought the worst thing done was putting the TV gantry over the old gable which spoils the look of it. Not sure how big a replacement could be cos its quite tight for space, would have to be like the west stand rather than Ponte end/North stand to save space - didn't west stand cost £1m all those years ago so we'd have to win the cup to finance it all from our winnings!
When the East Stand was built it was viewed by some as a white Elephant... good job our directors didn't take the same view.
If the west stand is to be rebuilt to a capqacity of 6K then we'll have a ground capacity of over 24k big enough for us and the ground would be effectively 'finished' for the lifespan of most of the current supporters. Social club is a great idea and new exec boxes with outside seating would be another.

really ? I think the East Stand was £1.75m I know that was 1993 but that's a wedge of inflation.
I'd guess at £4m

RE: Am I the only one who doesn't think its a priority? im with you on this one, i dont know the financial figures- but i imagine to redevelop that stand would cost more than the entire amount weve made from the cup run.lets reinvest that money in the squad- have a playoff push next season. is the stand really that much of a priority-attendaces dont justify it. besides- i have a soft spot for that stand, its got character and history to it, better than all these 'flat pack' stadiums popping up everywhere ala derby, leicester, cov etc- all the same just different colour plastic seats
RE: really ? I think the East Stand was £1.75m i was told last summer on a tour of oakwell with the kids cant remember who the guide was though.
Its got to be done because.... we are spending thousands on it each season just for it to get a safety certificate. The roof has nearly buggered and the complete upper tier will be struggling to get a safety certificate in a few year so we could be playing with three sides.
Last Building Estimate was 4.2 million And that was back in 2004, This estimate was on the books of Barnsley council , with a capacity of 9.500 all seating
It said the money towards so.... cup money plus whatever PC puts in and possibly the council, dont they own the stadium?
Looks like my days might be numbered They'll need to get an ecological consultant in to have a look at the toilets before they do anything. There could be all sorts living in there.
'kin too right there mate. I'm still asthmatic from taking a piss there at the weekend. My lad got a few laughs though when he asked where he could wash his hands. I told him it's best not to piss on his fingers.
Perhaps Mr Rowing is basing our needs on ... ... the 60-70,000 wanting semi-final tickets As some of you have said, if the West stand has its days numbered, there really is no option. Unfortunately, it won't come quick enough 'cos when we win the cup and are playing in europe, we will need the extra capacity
RE: Team first. s'gotta be done mate. It's another Bradford just waiting to happen. That's if it doesn't collapse first.
Good job Dennis thought differently All those years back. The West Stand should be in a museum. Ground - then players to play in it
