    So...

... if you wanted a family portrait painted you'd look in yellow pages under painter and decorator then?

    RE: You're absolutely correct

I just don't think there are any easy situations in football.

If you are gently slid into taking over from your very succesful manager after being his assistant for years with a huge amount of cash to spend then there will be massive pressure on you to keep that success flowing.

Look at the pressure Robins was under to keep Rotherham going as a club never mind getting away from relegation from the FL with a 15 point deduction. He managed it and he did it with style and while keeping calm.

RE: Was us not finishing inside the bottom 3 an achievement?

He failed miserably? Yet here we are playing championship football turning down £million bids for players that Davey brought in.

I know you like to think he failed miserably as it will justify the stance you've taken this last few years but the simple fact is he didn't. There were no relegations, there was no overspend, no big crisis at the club, just continued championship status and a cup run that the majority of us who were there will remember and talk about until our dying days. I wouldn't try to argue he did brilliantly, that's patently not true, we just did alright, average, fair to middling, but Simon Davey did not fail miserably.

..all ruled themselves out of the job according to somebody on millersmad. Claims to have heard it on Dearne FM, is that correct?
