Only way we could raise that amount of money would be sponsorship.

Very good idea from Dyson. Anything that brings in more money is a good thing. I think we should look to have Oakwell open 7 days a week with football on Sky every day of the week. For example open the executive area for the big football games excluding the tuesday night game if we are at home but having most other games.

Have a set price for a meal in there like starter, main and choice of drink from a couple of picks and charge say 12.99 a head. So for example you can have something like......

Monday Night Football: Starter, pie n chips, drink.
Tuesday Night Champions League or FA Cup replay or League Cup replay etc: Starter, fish n chips and drink.
Wednesday same as tuesday: Starter, curry and drink.
Thursday doesn't usually have much but could have premier league darts between Feb and May.
Friday football for a championship match or even try and get people to turn up for rugby league/union.
Saturday dinner game: Starter, burger/chips and drink.
Saturday tea game: Pick another meal and keep it open very late so after the 5:20 game fans stay for the La Liga double header.
Sunday football: Could have sport on all day for those who hang around with football, F1, NFL starting, La Liga etc.

Not sure how we'd get on for late night events like 2am boxing starts as council might be funny about it. To keep costs down get in touch with local colleges and universities in Barnsley preferably to help locals out to get in their students for work experience. They get good work on their CV and as a club we keep costs down. Maybe even get a contract sorted with a local taxi firm like Blueline so when people leave they can get a lift straight home from the back of the east stand. Charge them a small fee per week/month for allowing them to pick people up from there.

Could use locally produced fresh food instead of well known big mass produced companies. Have someone going around selling raffle tickets for a draw to win a signed shirt or something. Should enough who are there watching whatever is on be interested charge a small fee per person to take them on a short tour of the stadium and maybe fit in a photo oppportunity.

Cheers mate, enjoyed it. Definitely an eye opener. Didn't get chance to say hello but next time.

I'll still be a **** on here, though.

Isn't there people at the club who get paid to attract businessess to the club, as well as getting sponsorship and otherwise creating revenue? How big is the marketing team that do this, one, two ir more people? I run my own Business in South Elmsall, i've never recieved a letter or been approached about the club. Where are they looking?
