RE: hmmmm Mcindoe had a clause to say he could go if somebody offered the amount he went for. Devaney has a clause to say they can talk to the player if they offer so much. Nobody knows 'owt about Muller's clause.
Truth be told No fan will know exactly what details are in a player's contract of employment, whether it be salary, release clause or whatever. That is why anyone who claims player X is on, say, £15 000 per week (for example) is talking out of their 'lavender passage' and they know it.
RE: Truth be told I have absolutely no idea what is in anyone's contract. I am simply saying that a release clause allows you to be released for a set fee and if it doesn't it is not a release clause, it is something else.
As I understood it at the time The bid matched the release clause & we had to allow him to hold talks with them over a potential transfer at that price. The fact that he didn't go merely suggests to me that Devaney preferred to stay with us rather than move to Blackpool for whatever terms they were offering him.
The official site made it sound like.. They offered X amount which allowed them to hold talks with him (over a potential transfer) due to a clause in his contract, but the club didn't have to sell him for that amount. I suppose it's just a way of finding out if a player is interested without being accused of 'tapping up' a player.
Its an interesting debate Perhaps the 'permission to talk to another club who are willing to offer above a certain amount clause' is a sub clause that comes under the broader release clause heading
RE: Hahahah I am sure I remember something about the £1m release clause only being for the first year of his contract. Could be wrong but I definitely remember it being mentioned somewhere.
Where did we actually hear about this so called release clause Muller is supposed to have?? The club?? Muller Himself?? Or mosbrough tyke?
