I didn't send an email based on heresay. I sent a general email to the owners of the ground, as a public funded company, asking what their intentions were for a public venue that they owned. I agree that he should have left it alone and not dropped hints. I think that communication is one of his big failings. Just do things then announce them OR give detailed information on plans. Hints and claims of things to come without information never go down well in any business.
There is an extreme negativity. It's pathetic. I suggest you go down to Swansea and scream at Duff for leaving because that's what's pushed things back a bit. Jeez some people expect everything to go exactly the way they want it. It makes me wonder how they get from breakfast to bedtime without having an aneurism if the bus is late or they stub their toe. We are where we are. It's nobody's fault but Duff's.
Paragraph 1. Fylde not Barnsley to blame. Paragraph 2. Disco and Harban were in charge of training as was said. When they took charge and as said prior to worksop. Do you really want to hear from players who will tell you what you want to hear. Paragraph 3. Duff took the opportunity to climb the ladder. Isted wasn't our player. Thomas given all his homesickness says it all as to where he's gone. Players will be headhunted now and given we now have a manager in place. will give those players an insight who they'll be playing under. Which initially will have been an hindrance not knowing. Get your head up lad. stop being so down. I get the disappointment at times but dont go looking for stuff that isn't there.
MOMO (Mystery of Missing Out): This refers to fearing that you are missing out but not having any clues about what you're missing out on. for the many MOMOers on this site - relax - any new information will be available to all.
Isn't it a bit naive to expect a private limited company, even when partially publicly owned, to give you confidential information about its negotiations with BFC? Have some patience. Maybe this isn't Khaled's big news at all? Maybe we are about to be bought by a Gulf state who will chuck mega bucks at us to get us to the premier league. Irrespective. An email to a private limited company and a stock answer that probably does reflect the situation today means absolutely nothing because the signing of a contract tomorrow changes it completely.
I wasn't clear. I didn't email and ask for specifics. I just asked them what their preferred intention was for the ground. They aren't really privately owned are they, they're 50% publicly funded
At a guess, and that's all it is, I'd think that since the new boss will arrive at some point on Monday. Tuesday is likely to be his first full day in charge. He probably wants to have the entire squad available to him to start his assessment and the friendly might impact that as far as those U21s are concerned.
Totally agree the instability has been created by Duff doing a runner. However I also believe the Club are also still in control of how they communicate to fans. During periods of instability, comms are even more important than usual, and for me they haven't been good enough, on a number of fronts. Some people go way overboard, but that always happens. As it stands today, it feels like we're about a month behind where we should be in terms of prep for the new season. Guess we'll see.
Agree re the crap communication, didn't we lose the Communications or Media director, @YTBFC 's mate? Or is that a different dept? Is @YTBFC still at the club, he appeared to be considering his future in one of his last posts. No denying info/ mefia output has dipped, certainly not at its usual level pre season, when despite recent events, you'd expect them to be trying to hype a modicum of excitement.
Communication has been pretty poor for a couple of years now. If there's been anything that should have been explained it wasn't and people were kept in the dark. But yes in the last month or so even the general pr stuff that the media department were good at has just died off fully
I'm not bothered in the slightest that Duff has left, I understand that it's part and parcel of where we are and football in general. What does bother me is the reactive nature/ lack of communication from the club. The feel good factor is diminishing day by day whether people like it or not. A few top class signings will restore faith, and there is still time no doubt about it, but they need to be ready to go League 1 standard.
The thing is though Marc, the club made a standard statement about starting the process of replacing Duff as soon as he exited. It took them two weeks to complete the process. Two weeks! That's quick by anybody's standards. Yet for some those two weeks without a daily diet of being told, well I don't know what they expected to be told, was a cause for major teddy throwing. It's the same with the "big news". To be honest Khaled should know well enough by now that those same fans haven't got the patience to last beyond the end of the week let alone two or three months. So their fallback is to belittle it, pretend it doesn't exist and blame the club for not telling them yet. Khaled could be a little cuter on the comms front but, bloody hell, the bulk of the problem isn't with him it's with cry baby supporters who seem to think the club doesn't operate in the real world and that everything at BFC should go the way they want it to.
More or less naive than someone taking what Khaled, CEO of a private ltd company, tells them as gospel?
In what way is it publicly funded? I don’t get it. The club has a 50% stake, as do the council. BFC as part tenants, are responsible for the upkeep. It isn’t a municipal park or a public institution. The only public funding I can see, is for the lackey who had to reply to your email..
Explain..? I remember well all this being sorted out 20 years ago & to my knowledge, nothing has changed..
