    It's like this:

    Young talented lad, born and bred in Barnsley, grows up a Barnsley fan, comes through the youth sides at Barnsley and then in comes evil Wednesday and snatches him away for a token fee. What was the new hope, gets turned into an evil Barsteward in blue and white scoring prolific numbers of goals and eventually ends up a Wednesday supporter, fully seduced.

    It's just f.cuking wrong.

    Infinitely prefer them to Leeds or Sheff Utd

    Really can't understand an hatred of Wednesday greater than one for the Blunts

    Most Blunts fans I know...

    ...at least go to the Lane once or twice a season before they start making their mouth.

    Every place I've ever worked there's been a Wednesday fan whose the biggest gobs*ite in existance when it comes to football talk in the canteen yet must have forty-six new bathroom suites installed every year 'cos it's always his excuse when you ask him whether he actually goes to the match - "don't go these day 'cos I'm decorating"...

    Yeah, right, 'cos you're f*ckin' **** more like...

    Well maybe thats it

    Never worked in Sheffield (although my mate does and hates United more than Wednesday), and only briefly years ago worked in Barnsley. Mainly worked in West Yorkshire hence the Leeds hatred.

    It's not just that though...

    You point out the class issue regarding Sheffield clubs in your earlier post. United are the more working-class team in Sheff, their fans may be deluded and full of sh*t but they dislike us, mainly, because of football / regional factors. Washday are the more middle-class, chubby, mummy bought me a new Wednesday shirt when they were in the Premiership but I don't want it no more now they've been relegated, spoilt little f*ckers from the suburbs and outlying towns (unfortuneately I include Barnsley in that category as well) and dislike us simply 'cos we're perceived as "flat-cap and whippet" folk. Nothing to do with footie or town-pride - just class.

    We are Barnsley fans win, lose, or draw - EVEN THE BLUNTS, in my experience, are Blunts fans win, lose or draw. Wednesday fans are Wednesday fans win...

    I apologise for my ranting, the doctor has given me some pills and if I keep on taking them my Sheffield related prejudices will eventually end - if I keep on taking them!!!

    Nah then mi old pit dwelling neighbours. Before you make the trip down the A61 to the bright lights of the big City just you remember to get yourself scrubbed up and into your Sunday best. Afterall you've gotta make an impression on your well to do superious.

    Just so you know, we're having a whip round in The Travellers before the game so that your able to call at KFC on your way home. Wouldnt want your entire family not to eat for a week just cos you've spent the savings fund on a day out to Sheffield.

    Enjoy your day out, take lots of pictures and try and save some change in your pocket to get them developed down at Boots on Monday morning.

    Oh and one other thing.........its not okay to shag your sister or your mother in Sheffield so please refrain from doing so, at least until you cross back over the city boundary.
