I can't see you convincing him mate. I've just looked at his recent activity and the last 20 odd posts are a mixture of having a pop at the club or calling fellow BBSers names. His negativity really winds me up, which was the best thing about our unbeaten run, as he tends to stay off here when we're winning. I can't see why he doesn't find something else to do, because supporting BFC doesn't seem to interest him.

Well Whitey than goodness your habit of unsuccessfully predicting games continued tonight. LOL

    Ye of little faith.

A very welcome home win tonight and I heard that Jason Scotland scored. An ex Arab to the rescue as well. ;)

I think we tend to up our game against the clubs higher up the league and have done historically too. I'd much rather 7 games against top half than 7 games against bottom half personally!

Ideally you want 7 games against mid table teams with nothing to play for. That's why I think our home games against Charlton and Derby are very winnable. If we do win those then that's a great step towards safety.

Doesn't matter too much who we play, just how we play.

4 wins out of 10 games is achievable, every team in the division can be beaten. There's so much inconsistency in our league that the fixtures are pretty much unimportant. We are always as likely to beat a top team or lose to a bottom team as ever anyway. It's in our hands, not the oppositions.

Don't think Derby will view it as they have nothing to play for, they only have 45pts

lol yeah we will win some of those games against the top sides.

Think we gotta remember that had the season started on Jan first, the division would look a lot different

I didn't realise quite how congested it was. We're only 6 points away from the top half.

Why not? We are in excellent form, better than most at the top of the table, they will not be confident that they can beat us given that form. We have a decent squad which should have seen us comfortably mid-table.

In some ways its better to not be playing the other teams near the bottom, if we lose it does not hand them a massive boost. Also if they are playing eachother, then there are less points available to them as a whole.

3 more wins gives us 50 points which might be just enough.

I am confident we will avoid the drop. My tips for relegation are.

    Peterborough or Bristol City
    Wolves
    Huddersfield

Derby, Millwall and Blackburn are only 2-3 points above us and on terrible runs of form. It would not be a surprise to see all three of those go down this year...

Playing the top teams in the run-in does not automatically give a relegation rival 3 points if we lose, and with nobody safe in mid-table (yet) we might be better playing the teams at the top...

I've been supporting The Reds since 1978 and in my experience we generally do better against the "better" teams and worse against the "poorer" teams. I remember going Oakwell back in the 80s for a nailed-on 3-points against Cambridge at the back-end of the season when they had not won away from home all season. So of course we lost 2-0.

You missed out Derby and Blackburn - both appear to be falling fast and only on 45 points

SAT 16 MAR Watford 15:00 H - We can beat anyone on our own patch, they beat us 4-1 at Vicarage Road so we owe them one like we did Brighton. 2-1 Reds
SAT 30 MAR Sheff Wed 15:00 A - Stole 3 points at Oakwell with a foul on the keeper. No O'Grady this time so we're capable of winning this one 1-0 Reds
MON 1 APR Leicester 15:00 H - Bit of a bogy side at Oakwell so it's about time that changed. Leicester not playing well lately - 2-1 Reds
SAT 6 APR Crystal Palace15:00 A - We have a brilliant record at Selhirst Park, Saha likely to be suspended, nothing to fear - 2-0 Reds
TUE 9 APR Cardiff 19:45 A - Not as good as they think and have gone off the boil of late. Very lucky to take all 3 points at Oakwell - 1-0 Reds
SAT 13 APR Charlton 15:00 H - They've thrown the towel in for this season and think they're already safe. Already beaten them once this season and should have no problem at home. 3-1 Reds
TUE 16 APR Derby 19:45 H - Usually a close contest at Oakwell, draw being favourite 1-1
SAT 20 APR Nottingham Forest 15:00 A - Battered us at Oakwell and looked the best team in the league. Probably lose this one 3-2 Forest
SAT 27 APR Hull City 15:00 H - Already beaten them on their own patch under Flicker so no reason why we can't win again. We may be complacent due to us being already safe. (2-1 Hull)
SAT 4 MAY Huddersfield 12:45 A - Town undeservedly took all 3 points at Oakwell. Ex Tykes youth player Jordan Rhodes is no longer there so we could take revenge but I think this will be a meaningless end of season game 'cos we'll be be safe.

A bit tongue in cheek but I can see where 3 victories could come from.

I think people are worrying over nothing here. The leagues that tight that anyone can beat anyone, we're in mid March and the gap between the top and bottom is only about 25 points.

Every game is a winnable one.
