Agree with this - not much wrong with the shape, quality and effort of the team for most of the game - we seem to lose some belief around the hour mark though and the energy seemed to drain from the players even before their goal - that was a worry for me. Having said that I think with McBurnie in the team we would have won today for sure.
The worry for me is that despite playing overall pretty well, we still lost against appalling opposition. That's not good. Regularly playing well and failing to win is a trait of teams that tend to get relegated. So is conceding a lot of costly late goals.
Thought we were architects of our own demise by missing several relatively straight forward chances. I still don't think we'll be relegated but just to make doubly sure, as some on the board have said, we need some additional firepower in the January window. It looks like we could finally land Mc Burnie but I would urge Hecky to also bring a proven hitman in to help in our fight for survival. Having already nurtured Ryan Kent for Liverpool I would suggest he now asks Jurgen Klopp about the loan availability of 25 year old Danny Ings until the end of the season at least.
We were always short upfront I can't understand how ugbo started before thiam. I would take survival at this moment in time come the end of season and build on that next season.
