    sorry to hear that

I really feel for you because i cannot bear to think about the time when i have to go through that with my own pet although i have been through it in the past years ago so i know how you are feeling right now. They just become so much a part of your life,i can remember saying when we got our little dog i wont be ruled by her and she will have to go in kennels when we go away and here i am 7 years on telling my husband i will do without a holiday before put her in kennels.

    Sorry to hear that mate

But it was the best thing. I remember having to put down our old westie :'( I was devastated, on the way home from the vets a car crashed into me........... i regret to say i went beserk....... good job my mum was with me or i would probably be in jail for murder.

The hurt goes away, thank God the memories don't.

We recently lost our German Shepherd, it's a very sad time indeed.

One of the hardest things you can ever do

we had our retriever put to sleep at age 17 having had him from a pup and no matter how many times I told myself it was an extremely good age for him to have got to and the fact that the vet had said it was time it did'nt help.At that point we also decided that was it no more dogs because it was'nt worth the heartache and no other one would be as good.
But hey as a dog lover you prob'ly know how it goes ,we gave it a few months s and I'm off now to take the dog for walk ( no she will never replace the original but shes daft as a brush and dead soppy like retrievers tend to be) soyes that really crappy feeling does pass eventually
