I want Poya to leave for him as much as us. This season has been awful Helik, Williams and Woodrow missing recently, Morris, Anderson early doors has been too much for our squad to take. I think playing Styles anywhere except left wingback is a big mistake for the lad, Solbaure leaving was massive mistake and trying to change our style of play immediately after Val left with a very poor appointment in Schopp is another big mistake. Brittain is a right wing back not a rightback, Vita too small for a back 4. Palmers head doesnt appear to be in to the club, Gomez its too soon for the championship. Team for the rest of the season for me Walton / Collins Hondermarck Anderson Halme Kitching Brittain Wolfe Benson Styles Morris Woodrow as soon as he is fit Keeper, Vic, Iseka, Oduor, Moon, Marsh, Christie Davis Aitchison Kane Thomas Schmidt back next season Devaney manager Really sad how things have turned out but not giving up on the reds
I think the fact that Christie-Davies got in the squad ahead of him shows how likely we are to see Hondermarck again. Though I would have him in a back 3 with Andersen and Kitching as well.
He absolutely needs to go via the break clause being exercised (although anyone thinking this will be a compensation-free exit is in for disappointment). The fundamental issue I see is that we're likely to get another iteration of the same, failed approach that brought Schopp and Asbaghi in this season. Trying something different would be an admission of failure so I fully expect them to take the Albert Einstein approach in expectation of a different outcome. League One will be a more forgiving environment in theory, but it's a league that's suited to teams doing the basics well and we're going to run into many anti-football, physical approaches (e.g. Wycombe under Ainsworth) which our youngsters typically struggle against. A wise head or two will be required, but no doubt not provided once again.
Didnt we pay compensation to bring in both schopp and poya? These owners have made a habit of ***** signings of late and even shitter managerial appointments.
As well as being a more talented team during the 2018/19 campaign, physically we were also a much bigger team than the majority of sides. For example, I seem to remember a Gillingham fan writing after our 4-1 victory there, "Not only are Barnsley miles ahead of us ability-wise, they also look like a team of decathletes!".
