Sorry I meant in terms of Hill brought in Vaz Te and Drinkwater after this point so he has time this year to do the same. I think the basis of a good side is there, replacing Butterfield will be very difficult though.

I also thought Robins did a good job by the way. I think I am in general more forgiving of managers than most!

I agree the goal behind thing was a big problem, and I know that we will be without 3 of those players and if we went into the new season with the same players who finished the last season I would be worried.

I just get fed up of people moaning as if the whole of last season was **** and ignoring the reasons for the second half fall away.

I have faith that hill will again build a team capable of competing in this division. whether the board lets him keep it for the whole season is another thing :)

I don't and never have, ignored the loss of our entire midfield. I often point that out in my posts when trying to excuse the amazing drop off in quality from February onwards.

I don't forget how good we were for 3 months of last season - it's that spell of the campaign that keeps me optimistic for next term.

And your original point was somewhat different from what you are now stating. If we had suffered that dismal run from August to December, Keith and Dave would have been sacked. They wouldn't have been in the job to do as you suggested - to end the season in playoff form.

In reality, Hillcroft built a competitive team in a short space of time, and after an average start, we went on a good run through Autumn and into Winter. Credit must go to them and their players for that no doubt. But injuries, the January window, our boards inability to negotiate, and a lack of tactical nous from the management led to us going through 14 weeks of utter *****, which in many other years would have seen us relegated.
That isn't moaning about how **** we are. That is a reasonable reflection of last season. And that's without me adding the fact that we didn't have to sell Ricardo, and without me mentioning that our number 19 would have signed an extension last summer but the Don didn't want to discuss it until November (see Luke Steele for this years example).
Then there are the issues regarding admission costs. They are ******* obscene. £28 is an absolute disgrace. If by saying that it makes me less of a fan then so be it.

Sick of (some) folk on ere calling the likes of me a "moaner" or "troll", just because I have my misgivings about certain areas of the club/team/management/squad.

I don't recall me calling anyone names, purely because they don't agree with how I see things.

And as I keep on stating, I have full faith in Keith Hill. I guarantee you that next season I will not once call for his head however bad things are on the pitch. But that doesn't mean I'll ignore his weaknesses, or decide he's above criticism just because he was the manager I wanted last May. My opinions/mindset are open to change - human nature. Better that than be a one-dimensional numpty that calls it only one way and sticks to that belief no matter what.

Up The Tarn... etc etc.. whinge whinge

Who are you reffering to who has left the club recently and gone on to do well? The only one is Vaz Te out of the last half a dozen or so to leave for money. Shackell I suppose could be counted.
