It's a lovely park for a town park. And as said earlier, which urban park is fit for walking at night? I saw footage of it in the 60s and it looks pretty much the same as it does now. I am looking forward to the Venetian splendour of Huddersfield on Saturday, my memories must be truly mashed.
You didn't watch the report did you because it mentioned the rubbish tipping there, not the toilet stuff I'll give you that. This is from a report the council did: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCoQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.local.gov.uk%2Fc%2Fdocument_library%2Fget_file%3Fuuid%3D23ea9ff2-6228-4285-ade1-4544a74b6cd9%26groupId%3D10180&ei=5CgNU-m6Ooid0QWx4YDoCw&usg=AFQjCNFjm1_Y70WzriYNlk947v-G7cQcUw (PDF) In 2004 there was one Roma family in Sheffield, thanks to chain migration there are now 200 families from three neighbouring towns in Slovakia. Rotherham had no Roma in 2004 and now has 3700, don't think it couldn't happen in Barnsley, all it needs is one family.
What struck me was the number of bookies. There's a Coral, at least 1 maybe 2 Hills and Ladbrokes, there's a smaller bookies straight across from Coral's and at least 1 maybe 2 Betfred. That said Barnsley is no different.
its not just Rotherham having the problem with unemployed migrants, just seen the following posted on facebook. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...wing-Englands-rough-sleepers-three-years.html not good.
Should try Huddersfield. We've got four Ladbrokes in the town centre alone. All situated in clever places. One across the road from KFC, one at bus station next door to Greggs, one next to a really good butchers called Crawshaws and one next door to Subway. Marketing them so people pop in there before or after they get some food.
Yes I did watch the video, I said: So not Quote Originally Posted by Gloria Stitts View Post telling them not to...go to the toilet in public. then.
Crawshaws is belting, used to go in the one in Castleford on my lunch break when I used to work in the, err.. bookies. The reason there's so many, is because of the amount of money they make from the games machines, and by law, they're only allowed 4 in a shop, so to get around that, they just open another shop. There's a town im the south of London (its name escapes me) where there were 12 bookmakers on one street alone.
Oh yeah Crawshaws is amazing. Their three for a tenner offer on meats is a bargain. Plus they do some nice warm meal offers you can takeaway. We should get them in to replace Lindleys
crawshaws are one of the suppliers for my shop, been dealing with them for nearly ten years.we offer more or less the same deals in our shop as they do on the markets.
I didn't know that about bookies only being allowed 4 gaming machines. on wombwell there used to be the showboat and cosi bingo both crammed full of gaming machines, both shops are now shut, maybe its time to get one opened again and make a few bob.
Id be up for that. Used to try and go as late as I could as they sell off all the cooked stuff really cheap at the end of the day.
I've always found Crawshaws really variable, good one day, bad the next, the braised beef sandwich I had from the Barnsley Beef Company (also owned by Crawshaws) was so tough it was inedible.
