But rules is rules... the situation at Derby was even more clear cut. The QPR player was last man and was "fouled". By that reckoning, the Derby player should have been sent off.
likewise for our penalty/freekick the rules state that a foul can only be given for handball if it is deliberate. The rules also state that deliberate handball is a yellow card. To give a foul for handball but not book the player is ignoring the rule book
Bet they didn't show the handball given as a free kick when it was clearly in the area - I could see that from the Ponty End!
My thoughts exactly Unfortunately I was in the Ponty behind Steele, but even I could see that he'd overrun the ball and Steele had it in his hands before the "tackle" came in. Referee must have had it down as an away win in a 5-match accumulator or something.
it was a pen think some people need to look at the highlights and the guy saying east lower was a good view of it... lol.
OK Having now seen the highlights , I can see why he gave it. However if you had been sat where I was along with those around me you would have seen the ball spin away from the attacker and towards the goalkeeper and would not have been disposed to the giving of a penalty. What was your take on our penalty appeal and I dont mean the one involving Nyatanga? It does also highlight to me just how poor at marking this full back is and this was also evident at both Doncaster and Forest.
i didn't think it was a penalty at first but it was looking back on it. as for our penalty claim... video ref's please.
