The problem I have with a situation like this, is that elbowing is a hideous part of the game that should have been stamped out years ago by introducing lengthy bans and significant fines to both clubs and their players and points deductions if necessary. There should be no technicalities based on yellow cards being issued at the time, it's a threat to careers and should be acted on based on video evidence and the punishment being imposed retrospectively. While the FA continue to pander to the B*ll*cks of this 'leverage' *****, it's going to continue indefinitely. Anyone that has ever played a game of football will know that while the severity of the injury was unlikely to be intended, the use of the elbow, was without any doubt aimed to fell his opponent. That isn't football no matter how you want to view it. The FA haven't the B*ll*cks to tackle it, so you have to look elsewhere, police involvement, whether or not they decide to act, may well back the FA into a corner so they don't look any more ***** then they clearly are. You ******.
Okay then: "I do think that he was deliberately trying to hurt Hume though, the ball was nowhere near when it happened, so it wasn't just a "reckless challenge"!". Prove it.
RE: Yes. Yes, in your opinion, because as much as he might have done it on purpose you can't prove it. Ferguson ran those yards and punched someone - far more clear cut.
Super Slow Mo. Have we signed this player yet? I bet he's injured already. Super Super Slow Super Super Slow Super Super Slow Super Slow Mo Taylor.
You are clearly insane. As I've seen the state of your Missus. Can we have an "elbowing" emoticon? If it were up to me I'd put Morgan & Guthrie into a bowl of rabid homosexual well hung Gorillas. Oh - I'd throw Joey Barton in there too, just for fun.
RE: Okay then: Hmm... I can't see how my opinion would change anything so I don't need to prove it, but that's exactly the reason why the Police should get involved! I've only seen the video replays on Youtube and as a fan I may be biased, I'm not even trying to deny that. But Iain Hume will be out for a long time and in the worst case he'll never play again, so it won't help Iain Hume or the club very much if the only punishment that Chris Morgan gets is a three match ban... If Morgan's act was deliberate, wouldn't it be just fair in your opinion if Iain Hume and Barnsley FC got some compensation from Chris Morgan (and his club)? However if the Police decide that it was unintentional, then fair enough, at least they should be unbiased in all this, and they also have access to better quality video replays and other evidence.
Compensation That's an entirely different thing. There is no reason at all why Iain Hume should not pursue a civil action against Chris Morgan, but that's not what is being discussed. It's criminal proceedings against Chris Morgan that the petition is advocating.
RE: Okay then: "but that's exactly the reason why the Police should get involved!". Wouldn't they have to prove it before any action could be taken? "However if the Police decide that it was unintentional" The Police can't just "decide" it was intentional or otherwise. They would have to prove it - which in my opinion isn't possible. Oh - wait. Maybe we could get Tom Cruise as our Prosecutor & get him to make Chris Morgan confess on the stand? Kinell fire.
RE: What's Woody Guthrie ever done to you? They didn't call him "Woody" for nothing. I don't even know what that means. I blame Dandy A'Rsole.
Since when did you need a confession to prove intent? You silly man. You need My Cousin Vinny on the case to discredit any witnesses that are making stuff up. Eg. anyone who tries to argue that the use of the elbow was an accident.
By the way I'm not asking the Police to hang Chris Morgan like a dalmatian, that's not why I signed the petition. Without all this media "hysteria" I'm just afraid that the FA and everyone will forget the whole incident, and Iain Hume and our club are the only ones who will suffer. I signed the petition so that someone would do something about this case... If they don't investigate an incident like this, then what needs to happen before they do something?
RE: By the way Urgh you've made me feel sick now with that phrase 'hung like a dalmatian'. It immediately made me think of that picture in the paper where some evil Barsteward hung a dalmatian dog in Barnsley. I will never forget that it upset me so much
Rubbish. Julia Roberts in her Pelican Briefs would do a job. We'd still lose our futile case - but I'd have masturbatory material galore. You need to quote the bloke out of the Simpsons. He's the best lawyer ever.
The BBC have timed it on video replays and it is THEY that state there was roughly three seconds between morgan elbowing hume and morgan heading the ball. Are we to assume that they are incorrect then?
