I agree. Connell needs to take the handbrake off. Too reserved and it's effecting his game.

Good shout. I'd like to see Connell kick on. He's been poor just covering the defence.

I've listened / read all of Collin's press interviews, but he has not been asked, or said anything, about why Kane has been dropped for the past two games.

Does anyone know if it is tactical, injury. form, etc.?

He should be twice the player he is looking like Bobby Charlton.

Phillips has the best natural ability to shoot or put in a killer pass but it's something he doesn't use anywhere near enough

Personally I think that's because there's absolutely zero movement in front of him because the options are Cole, who's been on the beach since January, McAtee who I am convinced is a midfielder, Sam Cosgrove who looks more interested in wrestling with the opposition than he does playing football or max ******* Watters.

My conspiracy theory is that Cole out of contract dropped recently. Williams out of contract messed about at centre back. Kane dropped because he's out of contract. I can agree with the reports of Collins losing the dressing room too.

He does disappear throughout halves of football quite a bit yeah. The moment of quality he can provide can be game changing though.

With me preferring McAtee up top, there’s not really much competition for Phillips, apart from when McAtee does then drop deeper.

I'd play kane instead of Russell but Collins doesn't like him

Why? have we got a game tomorrow? Passed me by (a bit like the game passes Kane by for at least one half). Can't get automatic, highly unlikely we wouldn't make play offs and then at some stage play Peterborough or Bolton

One thing's for sure, if all our midfielders were playing as well as they can, picking the best midfield would be one hell of a job. As it is, none of them are pulling any trees up.

I totally agree. The lad just isn’t fit. It’s hard to disagree and say he’s a crap player because he isn’t but seems to have a lot of credit in the bank after being fabulous last season. I think at times this year, he’s played because of that rather than what’s actually best for the side. I feel for Russell. Everytime he comes in, he’s done a fairly decent job then gets dropped. Another player who’s victim to first impressions after we played him at times last season when he was unfit. When Russell played with

I also think O’Keeffe has been better than Jordan Williams at right back. Gets forward more and produces more chances. Williams just seems to be in a rut. I thoroughly expect him to rejoin Huddersfield in the summer.

Collins still doesn’t know his best side, which is a concern this late into the season and Pines would have been in that which is a blow. I still think we’ve got worse defensively since moving Williams out to right back, which says a lot as individually he was pathetic at centre half but we seemed more of a unit.

Do you think Russell is paying for missing that sitter at the back stick v Cheltenham before he was subbed?

If he is then Collins is slowly running out of players to pin the blame on, maybe it's time for a look in the mirror and to ask himself if his slow ponderous tactics are getting the very best out of them all.

Just seems that throughout the season he's been punishing players for errors where squad flexibility is available. That's why we have little to no continuity in our play and look like 11 men strung together in most of our matches. I agree with another poster that said he doesn't know his best side and he seems to react to things rather than have a cohesive plan.
