Why would they do that? Lincoln are in tenth and would get no benefit to us losing kane for a couple of matches after we've played them. And Exeter are at the bottom of the table 15 points from safety. If anything they'd want us as full strength to face 4th bottom in a few weeks, they wouldn't want us missing a key midfielder but in reality it makes zero difference to either teams and there's no benefit to them of getting Kane suspended after we've played them.
It was a wayward effort but we would have erupted had it gone in. It was certainly better than Cotter’s against Derby when he ran clear with the ball and tried to find an empty net with their keeper missing upfield
Pretty much what I was going to say. I can understand a team setting out to get a player sent of since that directly benefits them. Maybe you could argue that getting Kane suspended would benefit Bolton and maybe they tried it on last night, but our next 2 opponents? I don't see it myself.
