Quick look online says Ramsay only has a year left on his current Southampton deal. If that's true then maybe they will sell him now to bring in some fee instead of him just leaving for nothing next summer. Not that the fee will make much difference to them as a prem club though but it's a possibility I guess.
Might be so they can add a sell-on clause instead, just incase he goes and turns into the next John Stones
https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=114377&season_id=154 Brittain replacement? Fair bit of league one games last season before moving to Scotland. Season before last though he started for Southampton in their 9-0 defeat at Old Trafford.....
I think in the long term for them it's probably worth the risk. They've spent a fair whack this window so they aren't short a bob or 2. Recoup a tiny bit of money, or let him go for next to nowt and see if he can impress and earn a bigger move = more money in the long term for them. I think it's probably the better option mate considering his playing time, age & contract currently!
If its Calum Wright will be well pleased. Bro in law a Cheltenham season ticket holder says he was their best player last season. A lad who plays with a smile on his face with an abundance of talent. Come. On.
