I appreciate you coming back to me on that , and at times as the wife tells me , I can be a b3llend, so I'll apologise if I came across that way as it wasn't intended

I want something better than the current set up aswell - as I would say most do and have done for years, but we've unfortunately been deprived of it and in true English fashion , its always one extreme to the other - there never seems to be a happy medium!

I'm more right leaning (if you havent gathered - but would like a touch of leftism with utility companies etc!!)

No they are thick as ****. We don’t need to listen to their ‘genuine concerns’. Anyone supporting Deform in any way is de facto a racist. Not all brexiteers were racist but all racists were brexiteers.

the internet has given a voice to these raging idiots and everytime they are listened to the country gets worse.

That’s not true though. Most u21s would vote for left progressive parties. Just because some dribbling morons spew out bile it doesn’t mean they are the majority.

18-21s probably. The 13-16 boys are overwhelmingly right wing.

The analytics are saying that young males in the UK are leaning further and further right and are highly likely to vote. Females are much more progressive but seemingly less inclined to actually vote.

What you are saying was true of millennials but we are in our 30s & 40s now and many, as is often the case, have migrated right with age.. Gen Z onwards is skewing further and further right at younger and younger ages.

Dont usually disagree with you but I do here. If one doesn't listen properly to large swathes of the population and we simply insult them it does no good at all even if they are 'thick'. There should be a clear, obvious explanation by our leaders that starts the ball rolling on alternatives. Calling people 'thick' or 'moronic' etc etc has no chance of changing these peoples' views and it is surely the changing of their views we want. They need to be engaged, listened to and guided away from the crap they believe by leaders who can explain the real issues in a compelling way.

That last paragraph at least gives us the basis of something we can agree on. Yes, we should be taking genuine asylum seekers (our fair share, no more, no less) and there should be a legal route for them to apply which would end this small boat fiasco. Anyone arriving illegally can then be deported.

I also agree that asylum hotels need scrapping. These were created by the Tories. In one year of Labour government the number of people in these hotels is down from 55,000 to 32,000. I'm sure you agree that's decent progress?

For the record I did vote Labour, but am very disappointed with Starmer so far. I'd love to see a safe and legal route created for asylum seekers which I believe would have a big impact on boat crossings. Sadly Starmer seems too cowardly and scared of the right wing press to make a bold decision on this.

It’s not an easy trading environment but not all factors are local. Wars, risk of supply, climate crisis and a lunatic willing to wreck the world economy to make a few quid for him and his mates is having a big impact on us.

Yet in spite of that there are some positive signs too. Fastest growing G7 country, 1% growth in first six months, very good wage inflation, investment in NHS and plenty more. Yes there are negatives too, but to be honest, given what they inherited, they are doing better than portrayed. I’d still ideally vote for libs or greens, but if it came down to blocking the fascist party, I’d vote for whoever was best placed to do that.

If all anyone does is point out negatives and ignore positives, well… it just suggests a premeditated agenda rather than objectivity and being open minded.

Kinda hard to end the use of RAF bases when the Tory councils are trying to ban the use of the hotels they started using. After 14 years of an open door policy largely fueled by fascist farage and his Brexit lies what do YOU think should be done to stop immigration immediately?
