Drinkwater was never his to lose. Sheer stupidity to build a team around a loanee who could be recalled with 24 hours notice. Worst manager we have ever had. By far.
Give it a rest Keith. I've heard it all now. Done no good due to confidence? More to do with a lack of ability.
Wiseman, McNulty and Done. Three of the worst players to wear a red shirt at this level. Yet the berk kept persisting with them. Mental.
For those that didn't understand my original point, I was saying that Hillcroft have done their best. Obviously, at this moment in time people can say it wasn't enough. Regardless of your opinion there is no need to get personal about either of them. My personal opinion is that they'll end up making a good management duo somewhere else, at some point in the future.
Keith Hill & David Flitcroft were way out of their depth.....SIMPLE. They have had cash to invest (look at the 36 players we have in squad, some of whom have hardly ever played ie. Silva, Collins, Edwards, Etuhu to name a few). Their continual posession football was sussed by most opposition managers, who adopted their tactics to beat us. Keith Hill and David Flitcroft did not have the ability (or balls) to change tactics. Their continual support for players like Wiseman, McNulty and to a lesser extent Done, whilst dropping Bobby Hassell and Steve Foster, who have bags of experience (which is currently required in this battle) is baffling and makes no sense at all. Keith's media skills were awful and he did not use this platform to do what he shoudl have done and that is galvanize the players/fans and club as a whole. We now find ourselves in a position where the fan-base has reduced dramatically. Keith Hill & David Flitcroft may well be decent fellas and may well do a sucessful job elsewhere, but they have only themselves to blame for such a dismal attempt at managing BFC and dragging us down to the position we find ourselves in.
