    Of course and backed up by facts. In his six full seasons at Dale:
    Playoff final.

    9th in L1

    9th at least in L1

    Those are the facts that make him, in my opinion, one of the best lower league managers in recent years. Presumably, for him not to be, there must be a lot more managers with better records in L1 and L2 in recent years.


    Debate all we like about his comments etc, I'll probably agree with a lot of people on that, but don't dispute his ability as a manager when it comes to getting results in the bottom two divisions.

    At the end of the day whilst he had a poor time with us, he's guaranteed to finish above us this season having had infinitely less to spend than us, crowds a quarter of the size of ours and a bunch of players promoted from League 2 the season before. Whilst we struggled for the most part with a manager with vastly more experience than him. I'd be quietly embarrassed rather than halfheartedly taking the piss out of him.

    Hard working misunderstood manager.I might get slated for this but I liked him and understood where he was coming from.Also as a long standing supporter he never criticised me,only the supporters who booed after his first 45 minutes of his first home game.He also spoke a lot of truths that some fans didn't want to believe but he was proved right.Have a nice day I'm just going to put my crash helmet on.

    Well it is in its basic format isn't it. 11 V 11.
    The only figures he gave to show that hill was a great league 1 manager was his finishing positions and those positions were decidedly average. His championship record is appalling too.
