    Re: serious question

This is debate - we'll have to agree to disagree about Keith.
You have formulated some strong views and given that we're not Communists I respect your right to articulate them.
You still haven't answered the questions however.
You can clearly choose not to, but I'm genuinely interested as to what you would do if you were in The Chair.
Move the discussion away from all the "Keith is god" lovers, which clearly irritates you, and let us know what you would do to move the club forward.
Oh and I know you're not paid to do but just interested. Like.

I don' believe I ever siad that you did!
In which case we keep him and let's pretend that, hypothetically, you're his boss.
What would you be advising him?

Keep doing what you are doing but think of a plan b because the FL does not award points for artistic merit!

Well I am a communist but anyways!

If I was in the chair I'd tell Keef to keep doing what he is doing but like I've said elsewhere develop a Plan B because the FL does not give points for artistic merit.

If I was in charge I'd have to change the mentality of the club to reflect more the mentality of the manager and I mean that in the best way.

    Re: serious question

I believe he is the right man for the job and what I'll do is continue to buy a season ticket to support the team and continue to give what I feel is an honest assessment of how he's doing. I think he's doing quite well and I like the football we're playing although sometimes I think we could be a bit braver in the football we play and take a few more risks. I don't think Keith is the messiah.

    Re: serious question

If you're asking what I'd do if I was his boss, I'd do absolutely nothing. I'd leave him to run the team how he sees fit. He's doing a decent job of it, why would I want to change it?

Just because I don't agree with a member of this BBS getting the big **** off from all and sundry doesn't mean I'm against Keith Hill.

    Re: serious question

I'm not necessarily saying I agree with him Jay but Hill's argument on Barnsley Player last week is that the brave thing to do is remain true to your principles and that ultimately you will reap greater rewards by continuing to play the way you believe is right. I heard an interview with Brendan Rodgers making the exact same point. This was certainly backed up by the Ipswich game where our patience and their tiredness paid off.

I completely appreciate citing Rodgers given Liverpool's start to the season does little to support that argument! I imagine Hill's plan B is based on pace out wide but he doesn't have that open to him at the moment due to injuries, and if we don't have the players to go direct.

I didn't go yesterday but it sounded like plan A worked pretty well. I'm bouyed by the fact we're creating chances which is an improvement on the second half of last season!

    Re: serious question

I'm not suggesting a radical overhaul of the tactics. It's just sometimes it seems to me we wait too long to play the killer ball. An opportunity arises but we decide to definitely keep possession by going sideways instead of possibly losing the ball by playing it through. It's a judgement call each time, but too often we appear to be taking the safe option. Who dares wins.

More often than not football teams get what they deserve. Occasionally you get outplayed and win, or the opposite, but not too often. In recent weeks we've battered Leeds, Blackburn and Ipswich, but got only one point from those three games. We're not getting what we deserve on a regular basis. For me that means we need to slightly tweak the approach.

I'm not telling Keith what to do btw. It's just one fan's opinion on a forum designed exactly for this kind of thing. It doesn't mean I want him sacking.

Absolutely and its a very valid point. At the same time I suppose a counter argument could be if we played a different way we wouldn't have dominated those teams to be in a position where we could have won.

There's two elements at play for me, firstly we've got to stop wasting chances. Secondly we are much more effective when we get Mellis on the ball in the final third. My main concerns are when teams flood the area in front of the back four and Mellis drops too deep to pick it up, because then it does become difficult to convert possession to chances.

I just dont understand the need for threads like this, telling everyone how bad his record is. If Hill stays here another 2 seasons and we vastly improved to about 6-8th place in the league. Will the same people be posting threads telling us how good his record is, or will they find some other negative to focus on

If the truth is there in front of your eyes, why ignore it?

I dont see the point in all the King Keef ***** either, bit those posts dont have any facts to back it!

If Hill turns out to be the greatest manager we have ever had then I will come on and say so, until he gets a better record all you can say is he is very average.

Sorry I'm looking at those stats, right in front of my eyes and nowhere can I see where it says that Barnsley played extremely well against Leeds but a number of missed sitters and a bad referees decision cost us.

maybe some of is are able to look at the bigger picture rather than a set of numbers.

What about the facts that you seem to be conveniently overlooking; little things such as budget.
