I'd agree about the excellent defensive header, that was a very good piece of defending. I just think he cost us possession far too often in a situation where we needed more of the ball. He doesn't look, just launches the ball down the line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He's not the best left back in the world, but I still think he had a decent game yesterday. Even if Roberto Carlos had played left back we would still have struggled, as the main problems in our team are elsewhere. He had a bad trot and got some abuse on here, so I thought it was only fair for him to get some praise when he does OK.
He didn't give it away any more often than anyone else. He managed to find a man with numerous clearances when under pressure. Also put in a couple of quality crosses towards the end that we should have converted.
I've never had a problem with Kennedy, don't get some of the abuse given to him at times. Not sure having a right back would have made a difference, O'Brien would still have been on the post and we'd have sat back and they would scored with a pointlessly negative line up. Come on Danny, sort it out. Hate to say it but he seems clueless and negative so far.
O'Brien was on the post during the first half. Remember a bloke shouting that he looked uninterested stood there as the ball came to the neat post.
Defensively you've got to give Kennedy credit. Read the game well and made some good interceptions. Offensively he was our worst player. Gave the ball away far too many times with long hopeful hoofs upfield. That has been a similar story ever since he signed so I don't believe its a tactic the manager is employing, rather a lack of quality. It's about time he was told to keep it simple rather than giving the opposition the ball back to come at us time and again.
