was it the guy who looked about 12 and who was on twitter who said he put people in touch with each other? I used to follow him at the time but don’t anymore and can’t remember his name.
The renegotiation referred to was that BFC Investments Limited would pay £3.5m to Oakwell Holdings Ltd regardless of whether it was promoted from League 1 in Stendel's first season, rather than the originally agreed £6m which was subject to promotion. The £750k was the first installment of this £3.5m, after which no further monies due have been paid. The dispute didn't exist at the time it was paid.
The murkier the waters get though, I think they've been handing them around. It seems to me that if the Crynes accepted the £750k "bonus" out if the club coffers, they've essentially been bought off with Patrick Cryne's own money which was sat in the cash reserve since the sale of the club. But they're on the board, they have access to this information and knew where the money was coming from.
He's just using the power of supposition arising from tweets he's seen. Now if the owners actually answered straight forward questions, rumours and conjecture wouldn't be needed. They're making it very hard for fans to fill in the gaps.
Is it not possible that at this renegotiation the monies were agreed to come via the club rather than the investment vehicle? It just seems strange that the Crynes would accept a payment when it's taken potentially from their own coffers.
So the only installment that has been paid in their purchase of the club has been paid by money owned by the club itself and nothings been paid since? Yet we call them owners? Surely I've got that wrong?
Lawyers statement on behalf of the Crynes; "The club is not liable to pay the deferred element of the purchase price, it is the Hong Kong company which owes the money.” https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/a...in-275m-legal-case-against-barnsley-fc-owners
Didn't we sort this out the other day? 3.5million was payed as the initial money up front to buy the club and pay off some loans to the Crynes. The rest due in installments, which haven't all been paid.
No, because the facts of the payment are detailed in the accounts and clearly state that it was a debt of the investment company being paid at the time it was paid (i.e. subsequent to the renegotiated amount being agreed). The Crynes, as far as we know, have no control over the source of the incoming payment to them, and potentially would only have become aware of it when we did, via the public domain. They could have bounced it back, but that would potentially negate any argument they sunsequently made that it remained unpaid to them.
But is that also true of bonus payments relating to promotion and or a renegotiated deal? These things should be a matter or public record.
No, they paid the initial installments directly themselves to take control when it originally went through in late 2017. The installments of which only £750k have been paid by the club are further to this, renegotiated from what was agreed during the initial purchase.
