I don't think he's really done anything wrong, he's probably said all he can at the moment. What I'd suggest to him though is that next time try to get the interview done a week before the early bird deadline not after it. It's not like the interview now causes any harm but a week ago may have shifted an extra few tickets, those few people sat on the fence. Also try to hint in what general area the news is maybe? But like I said he's said and done nowt wrong here so can't criticise it.

 

To be fair those Wednesday 10 year season tickets could end up being lifetime at the rate they're going. The 10 years only starts counting down when they first reach the prem.

 

But surely if the news is so big and good, wouldn't we have more chance of filling the well for play off match

 

I think if he could have said what it was he would have, with season tickets selling it doesn’t make sense to hold anything exciting back right now, in fact nows the perfect time for any big announcements. I’m guessing the reason he didn’t elaborate is because he can’t at the moment, maybe the legal side of whatever it is isn’t compete yet or maybe it would be a distraction, which suggests either the ground ownership/improvements or new investment or maybe Duff extending his contract.

The fact he says “…big and exciting news coming Barnsley’s way and I think everyone’s going to want to be part of that journey” The journey suggests it’s something we are all going to experience for a long time, a new era or a change of the usual trajectory. We’ll only have ourselves to blame for speculating and then it being something less exciting than what we’ve come up with, but I can’t help but think it’s something significant

 

It's just marketing speak........the online shop "upgrade" fits the description, its just blurb, I wouldnt hold yer breathe, we're not signing Messi.
Marketing folk are easily excited and often a bit detached from reality.

If this Fanatics thing is Khaled's big news that'll have all the doubters rushing for season tickets, just let us know.

I asked him outright this evening and Khaled said of course it isn’t this news despite what it does to help the club. The news is still to come.

Why is Khaled's interview behind the paywall? Surely if he's appealing to all of us he should be VISIBLE to all of us.

 

To be fair we’ve been over promised before so I get why people are saying it’ll be something minor, naturally people speculate as well so someone’s going to be disappointed either way. The change of ownership of Oakwell makes the most sense, it’s an announcement that’s due and biggish depending on what the plans for improving Oakwell are.

Yeah, my suspicion is that it is Oakwell related. If not a change of ground ownership, maybe news on the new lease and any improvements on the ground being planned

 

This is exactly how I was reading it between the lines.

 

Don't get too excited. It all comes from the marketing-speak that told us the Ponty was sold out.
It encourages people to part with their money then fails to deliver later or disappoints. We've had it before.
However I'm still hopeful, or gullible.
