Most teams are coming back earlier due to the World Cup being on anyway not that it makes any difference as league one doesn’t stop anyway.
More rigorous doesn’t naturally mean better. We don’t have any real evidence of that either tbh. From the outside looking in and listening to media etc it sounds a bit adhoc. Khaled’s last appointment was Poya let’s not forget either. Whilst I don’t disagree with taking time just think 8 weeks is a bit excessive considering the emphasis Khaled himself agreed was part of the reason we had such a poor season last year and considering Poya left before the season ended. Considering the season starts earlier this year we actually appointed Schopp on the 29/06 last year so I would say we are going to be in the pretty much the same scenario as last season going into this head coach and timeline wise and would imagine it’s going to have an effect on our recruitment of players again then too.
Wonder if he's next out of the door ....stranger things have happened at sea as the saying goes I know he's a softly spoken bloke to start with but at the new board press conference I just felt he sounded and looked subdued Might be me reading too much into it but something felt amiss Guess it will all come out in the wash.
I think he should be judged on when the appointment of head coach is made not now. There will be legitimate reasons why it has taken this length of time which will be apparent when they can speak in more depth about it when the appointment is made. If they now appoint another unkown Schopp type then I can understand us getting on their backs for not improving. If we don't give the new coach sufficient pre season time then again criticise but we are not at that point yet.
