Changed my stance on this to making it a real 50/50 fight. Kell Brook has looked much more ready this week and much more focused - also think Khan is displaying an element of overconfidence. Brook was a wreck in previous weeks and didn't look good/wasn't coming across well. Still fancy Khan on speed and fitness, but the Brook equaliser will always be there in the early rounds. Brook wasn't great against a notoriously slow starter in Crawford, where they shared a couple of the early rounds and then once Crawford stepped on the gas he was gone. Difference being Khan doesn't hit as hard as Crawford and nor is he as quick, or as good. Khan wasn't great either but hung with him for a lot longer until he disgracefully quit - he was harder for Crawford to suss out and finish. Whether they're both past it not isn't much of a debate but they're both in incredible shape.
I’m thinking it plays out like an exhibition bout, from two blokes that haven’t stepped in a ring for ages. Boring points win, khan. Post match, both come out and say they have a new respect for each other. Ps. I know nowt about boxing, none o that ends up happening
This fight is too close to call for many commentators.....Brook if he can control his anger and hatred for Khan....if not Khan will take him out in round 10 also I've Seen many comments it won't go the distance....I reckon it will get stopped in the 7th due to technicalities ....and the outcome will be a draw .....more money in it for promoter's and the like for a rematch....
No ones been led. No ones saying they’re still world class. No ones promised they’ll fight again. Just two fighters settling a grudge for money & unlike many ‘grudges’ the dislike is real. Mismatches like Joshua-Martin & fights like Whyte-Rivas been PPV are far worse than this or something like Haye-Bellew when the grudge was completely fake & Haye was injured.
It’s a genuine fight. A real 50/50 match up with two faded fighters but two fighters that have still got skills and still in great shape. I don’t think anyone sees it for anything other than what it is. Khan has said this is the start of another title run. Which makes sense as he seems in better overall shape, mentally and physically, than Brook who is putting everything in to this one last fight. I personally can’t wait for tonight.
Even money for either of them to be knocked down in the first six rounds.... https://m.skybet.com/boxing/upcoming-fights/event/28681259 These two has beens who are prone to being put on the deck have so much hatred I can't see it lasting long one way or the other.
Thats a pretty handy bet. Although Brook can be hurt without going down. Khan goes down but Brook tends to be dazed and stay upright, so if that happens and the onslaught comes it will be a stoppage with no knockdown.
Could go either way but I am surprised Khan is the outsider when he's got the better names on his record and Brook has had his face smashed more. I think bets for it to not go the distance is where the money is. They are past it so I expect them to be knackered soon enough and heavy legged. I can't see them both having enough in the tank to get to points.
Hoping Natasha Jonas can win this at the third attempt. Worry about her jumping up two weight divisions when her opponent is a beast, but fingers crossed her speed and elusiveness can get the job done.
