Was worried it felt a bit funeral procession like but worked a treat. My heart was racing for those first two rounds. Not watched a fight like that since the Hatton and Calzaghe days.

That's exactly what my girlfriend said! Started like a funeral but then when it kicked in and the ring walk started i could actually feel the hairs on my neck. Was a fantastic fight, especially the first couple of rounds as you say. Couldn't take my eyes off it.

In terms of a title run it’d have to be a states fight or at least bring a world level fight over? I don’t see that.

Only options are Eubank below 160 or Taylor or Benn around 150 for Brook.

If Khan won then Taylor or Benn at 147.

There’s no value in a fight against anyone else in my opinion.

I read it as the stream was like someone had filmed it from the pub car park and then I understood :D A bloke on the next table to us in the pub was filming it for someone through a video call, which was quite funny. And why not, saved someone 20 quid :) he kept repositioning the phone though and it fell off the table a couple of times.

Brook won every round with ease & dodged almost every flurry thrown.

I was amazed with how sharp he was. I’d like to see him retire but I get it if he carries on.

Khan had almost no success & was a mess by the time the stoppage came.

I don’t know if people watched it but Sky Box Office showed the moment Khan’s entourage left him & he was alone taking deep breaths walking to the stage & you could see the fear in him. He looked like a dead man walking.

Mentioned that in a post above and likened him to Bruno vs. Tyson. Brook definitely didn’t win the second round though.

Interesting round that. Will have to watch it back but I said at the time Khan had Kell on the back foot but my girlfriend saw it the other way. Really pleased for Kell.

Had him on the back foot for most of the third round and then foolishly stared at the referee on a break with about 30 seconds to go and got clipped. I still scored it to Khan as it was just two clean shots (without watching it back) but could see it being given to Brook.

Scoring fights is hard because you could be drawing the fight 3-3 but have taken an absolute hiding in the three rounds lost. It’s sometimes hard to not score with the way you think the fight is going rather than each round in isolation.

I've massively got into boxing in the last year and it's my second favourite sport now (after footy of course), but I do find the scoring difficult. I know it's all opinions and I usually call it correctly, but on a basic level I don't know how they score so precisely (e.g. 10,9,10 etc). I know that even the judges can be very different in their scoring however. And there is a bit of corruption, I think? For example, Campbell Hatton's last fight - I was shocked when he won on points. But as I say, don't fully understand the scoring anyway, but love boxing now, definitely a convert :)

Each to their own but there wasn't any round that I'd definitely have given to Khan.

Loads of different factors…..including basic incompetence and possible corruption.

Home fighters often get decisions. Sometimes because of the above, but also it’s hard to shut out the noise that makes a missed shot look like it connected. Watching a fight with the sound off can sometimes be a totally different fight to the one you watched the night before. Especially with Sky Sports Boxing - the home bias is cringeworthy at times.

Can also depend on whether you prefer the backtracking counter puncher vs. the fighter always on the front foot forcing the fight. I think judging in general needs a rethink in boxing as too many really poor decisions, and these guys don’t fight as often as fighters used to so it can make or break a career.

Good fight, early UK style stoppage but not didn't see too much complaining. This sounds like a stretch but I think if they fought in their primes, with a lenient referee, it could've been an all time classic. Even far beyond their best that fight still had such speed to it. Enjoyed it much more than the Munguia fight I just watched haha,

This is a really interesting thing about last night, how both fighters have been called ‘passed their prime’ or ‘too old/should retire’ etc.

Nobody is saying that about Usyk who is 35, Fury who is 33, Joshua and Eubank Jr are 32.

I think there’s been a lack of respect to the 2 lads in that ring last night. It wasn’t 2 old dudes having a last exhibition fight for their last payday. It wasn’t Roy Jones Jr against Tyson.

Both have a lot of miles in them in terms of fights and punishment they have taken. Kahn hasn't been in the ring for 2 years. Both have been knocked out badly previously. Brook hasn't been the same since GGG broke his face.
So yes in terms of age I get your point but in boxing terms they are probably both spent forces.

Age didn't really have much to do with it and it isn't lack of respect. Fighters peak at different times. Amir Khans prime he was at 140 and it was over ten years ago, he admitted in the post fight he peaked at a very young age.

Don’t think there’s been a lack of respect mate. Khan hadn’t fought for two and a half years and wasn’t showing any kind of urgency to come back for any fight other than this one. 40 fights as a pro and a long and hard career considering he turned pro at 18.

Brook’s eye sockets have been smashed to pieces so that’s another long and hard career. His face is pretty much metal. Again, there was no signs of him fighting again after the Crawford defeat.

Age wasn’t why they were being highlighted as passed their best. Big Fraze just made his pro debut at 30, Eubank JR hasn’t been in any wars to knock miles off the clock, and Usyk hasn’t even hit 25 fights yet has he? Wasn’t he unified at Cruiserweight in something daft like 17 fights?

All the sparring in the world can’t prepare you for that first time you get hit in the face after 30 months out of the ring. That’s why Khan’s legs wobbled most in the first round from what was essentially a jab. Far too cold and passed his prime. Similar happened to Brook against Crawford, a powerful jab. Liam Williams against Eubank JR not too dissimilar either.

"I think Khan may get on top with hand speed early on but once Brook adjusts to the speed and starts landing then Khan goes down for me - Brook by knockout rounds 5 - 7" - The fight went more or less as I called it Loko - Khan gave it is all and fair play to him for that, but he should now hang his gloves up and retire - nowhere else for him to go after such a comprehensive hiding
