Lol. This forum has kept me sane. I don't know if I've used it as much as should have. There's you, Red Taff, Helen, Jamdrop, Redbluenwhitered, Titus, Bazza. Can't thank you all enough.
Thank you for those kind comments. I can agree with the other names mentioned, but I'm probably in there for simply being old!
Yet again, another solid performance. Admittedly he's not had to pull out any worldies so to speak. (Maybe a sign of better defending) But I like the way he looks to start a quick attack.
As you say, I thought the back 3 were particularly good last night albeit against the 2nd worst attack in the division. However Killip did what he had to do without any fuss which is the benefit of having an experienced number 2.
Maybe Roberts won't get back in? Maybe this is Killip's Isted/Collins moment? Maybe the board will think they can save some coin on the minimum 500k (guess) that Middlesbro would want? Or maybe not.
His distribution is better than Robert's but in the last two games he not had a serious shot to stop so time will tell.
Same point I'd make. I think Robert's has proved himself to be a very good goalie. And would sign him tomorrow for £500k. (If that is what they require) Rather than wait till the end of the season when he could do an Isted. If he'd come. But (and a big but) I believe when the january window ends the club will be able to talk to Robert's without boro's permission. Hence I'd be doing that. And at least negotiate a signing on fee. The ball again as in the Isted case is in his favour. Copied With six months or less remaining on an existing contract for players aged 23 or older, they are free to negotiate with other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement, indicating their ability to move to their intended club on a Bosman transfer when the next transfer window opens.
I reckon our defence only allow the opposition chances so Roberts can show off his skills. Ever since Killip has been in goal the opposition haven't had a sniff. The only shot I remember being on target in the last two games was the penalty. Killip very nearly got that but hasn't really had another shot to save. As such I don't really know how good he is. His distribution is a different level compared to Roberts though. If we're going to continue to deny our opponents any goal scoring opportunities I'd keep Killip in. If we're going to allow them some chances then I'd bring Roberts back. Not because I have any problem with Killip but Roberts is too good to leave out.
Roberts is the best keeper in the league by a country mile. I heavily criticised the signing of Killip in the summer but he can’t be faulted. Fair play to the Fawdry, who had a word about him coming.
I always understood that this only applied where the other club in question was from a different association, i.e. moving abroad?? Edit According to the following article my understanding was right, out of contract players at English clubs can only talk to other English clubs 1 month before the end of their current contract. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/wha...m-transfer-term-explained/blt5d41e839dacbcd34
Apologies And Cheers. I had misread the section re premier league players and the transfers between English clubs as only a premier league criteria.
