Is this fact or rumour? There was nothing official on the Rochdale, Sheffield United or Barnsley official sites at the time. The Rochdale site, especially, kept their fans updated and they only mentioned Barnsley as having permission to approach Hill. According to them, this was because of a clause in his contract allowing him to speak to Championship clubs, which Sheffield United weren't. However, it seemed to be mentioned quite frequently on various message boards. I suppose it depends on how much credence is given to such gossip, rumour and fans supposedly 'in the know'. I haven't the foggiest idea whether it's true, or not.
Re: Is this fact or rumour? I didn't even know owt about him wanting sheff u before us. Sure it's a load of ********.
Re: Is this fact or rumour? It doesn't really matter in the end does it? He's here for the forseeable future I would have thought as Barnsley fans and Board seem to be on the whole happy with him, he seems relatively happy here and his record is too poor to attract any potential suitors, so it looks like status quo maintained for me...
Re: No mention of Hill in today's papers .... What the man who polished Steven Dawson into a Championship Midfielder.
Re: Is this fact or rumour? Wilson was mccabes first choice. They holiday together. More of a scientific fact than the earth being round.
