I bet all them that slag him off fancy his Barbour clad arse. Right manager, wrong time. Looking forward to playing them next year.
I'd like to see Rochdale do well. I have nothing against Keith, it didn't work out for him here in the end but I don't understand the resentment some show to him on here. He was a character and he was entertaining. It wasn't too long ago when there was talk of a takeover that people rather we had Hill than a shed load of money. Keeping Hill in the job was the deal breaker.
Wrong. never the right manager at ANY time !!! Ok at Rochdale and good luck to him, but I do not give a frig about him and I cannot understand how he can be so revered by some deluded fools on here !
Top of the league. Playing proper football. Having built a whole new squad in six months on a shoestring budget. Aye, he's proper **** King Keith. I do though agree and always have that he's a bit of a knob. And, that as much as it pained me to admit it, he had to go last year. Lost the plot. But as already pointed out by mrx, maybe he's used that experience to improve himself? Good luck to him. And certainly to Dale. Great little club. Great fans. Why be so bitter ffs? We got what we wanted, and so did they. Anybody would think we're talking about Morgan and the Blunts..
Found his level. Couldn't cope with our media. Constantly slagging us off, would have took us down. We are still recovering from his spell with us, signed some ***** who clearly aren't up to championship standard.
To be honest I was fully behind when he came here but it didn't take long for him to wind me up with his comments and digs and I was glad to see the back of him however I think it would be great if Rochdale go get back up in to league 1 considering the lack of success they've had.
I just don't get it. He was terrible for us for the majority of his tenure. We played shocking football which didn't get results. He slated us, the fans, at every opportunity and couldn't wait to get out of here. His demeanor at the games around Christmas last year was abysmal, he'd completely given up. Why would you support a bloke that had given up on the job he was doing whilst he was still getting paid in that role? I don't wish bad on him but to support him is bizarre in my opinion after what he did to us.
To say he gave up on us is harsh. The way I saw it he gave 100% but in the end he just wasnt good enough. Apart from the odd few, I like to see any of our former players/managers do well.
I thought he'd given up at the end too. The sarcastic wave to the fans that time he couldn't be arsed to sit in the dug out, laughing off his **** off after another defeat.. I couldn't give two flying sh*ts about him though, he's a decent lower league manager and that's about it. He'll hardly be remembered in our clubs history in 50/75 years time.
^This I don't wish ill on Keith Hill. I don't like him, but I don't hate him and as someone who has had his fair share of knock-backs myself, I take some pleasure from seeing a man pick himself up and make a success of his life again after a pretty spectacular fall from grace. It shows good character that and I can admire that quality in Keith even if I don't like the man. I don't hope Rochdale fail. I don't hope Keith will fail. But to be actively supporting him after the way he conducted himself while at Barnsley is bizarre to me. Be the bigger man than Keith ever was, wish him good luck for the future and bear no grudge, but this adulation he's getting is just weird.
I suppose I cling to the memories of the early part of his time with us when we had Vaz/Butterfield/Drinkwater etc and the football we played, the best I'd seen in years. And I still believe he was one of the unluckiest managers we've had. He made mistakes, **** loads of 'em, but I also think we were close to something big until Michael Brown came in. Sliding doors and that. Plus I liked the crazy *******. Genuinely.
I wasn't really counting you in that. You're just nuts. You've always gone purposely overboard when talking about Keith's good points and even if you no longer thought he was that great, you'd still say you did just to piss some people off. I'm fine with that. It's this thing creeping in that he did a decent job for us and he's a nice bloke and that. Maybe he is a nice bloke, but he certainly didn't act like one when he was representing our club and he didn't do a decent job, he was shocking.
