The Directors at Oldham were taken in just the same as it seems the Directors at Barnsley and yourself have been. At Oldham they said he was head and shoulders above all other applicants. His gift of the Gab got him both jobs it seems. Like at Barnsley LJ brought in a very young squad at Oldham and asked for time for them to settle in... Her drilled into the Oldham squad his pure passing game and in midfield Oldham were passing the ball like Brazil, the problem being the defence were leaking goals or fun and the strikers barely saw the ball... Adam Rooney took a lot of flack for not finding the net , was sold to Aberdeen were he scored over 25 goals in his first season... The man was given a three year contract for his first managerial post and promised the earth...He is now spouting the same speel at Barnsley that he did and seems to do so well for him wherever he goes. I hope he does well here at Barnsley but watching him in Oldham where I was working at the time...He seems to have a rigid A plan but if that fails or is failing he was found out. That said, fingers crossed he's learned a lot in his short time in management... Like loyalty.
For the avoidance of doubt the season but it's not me that does the hiring and firing so it's irrelevant.
I'm working in Huddersfield now (for my sins) Last saw Oldham draw a couple of weeks ago, A lot of early injuries so hard to tell...
No worries. I've read the forum a few times and they can't stand LJ, nor this new bloke Kelly. Not sure what a club with about 3,000 home fans expect.
I think they were still behind him till he left..then the hatred surfaced... as for kelly, he's never managed before either so think the forums are split on him. Yeah your right...around 3000 to 4000 most home games so gotta try and live within your means I guess...
While ever he keeps being so honest in interviews he will have my support, but I bet he is regretting not getting those 2 or 3 older heads in during the Summer.
Listening to him, I got the feeling he wants/wanted an older head in midfield, but the club didn't. I think it'd have made a huge difference last season, nemind this one. But what do I know?
We could do with somebody with a head like yours in midfield Mr Whitey. I'd give it 30 minutes before you'd done a a Barnsley Kiss on someone.
3 wins in our last 16 league games under him and a defence that's very leaky for goals. Not to mention a bad tactician. We knew what we were letting ourselves in for because how he managed Oldham was dull too. We should have got Rosler when we had the chance. We've got to just believe eventually it will come good, but the signs haven't been there yet. Words are cheap i'm only bothered about results.
Im certainly not his biggest fan and eouldnt be upset to see him gone, I have never understood why we appointed him in the first place but I'm not quite at the point of calling for his head just yet. Everyweek is adding to my frustration though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Listening to him talks just annoys the **** out of me. His 'triggers on the pitch' is worse than listening to Flitcroft. And its not six games. Its since February. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Anyway enough of the negativity on here or the other half on here will be bedding down the old howitzers to launch a few shells in our direction! Come on Lee Jay get it sorted pronto!
Didn't have you down as someone who does the ironing! May be more exciting than tomorrow's escapades at Oakwell
