No reason why we couldn't come back up first time. Plenty of other clubs have done. I'm not expecting anything though, just hoping.

    We're not down yet anyway.

We've not even gone down and you're already telling everyone we've no hope of coming back up, give it a rest

Donny have done it several times, Yeovil have done it, Brentford have done it, Bournmouth have done it, Scnuthorpe have done it, Peterboro have done it, Milwall have done it, why the hell can't we do it, why have certain people given up before our fate has even been decided.

There are far too many so called supporters expecting and waiting for us to fail.........and getting pleasure from it.

From the other clubs that have been relegated the pattern as been that they do better away compared to the average league points for home and away teams. Doncaster did this when they were in league one for example.

At oakwell I think a lot of teams will come and try and frustrate Barnsley for maybe 70 minutes minimum.

We should be looking to finish up in the top 6 I would think and maybe have crack with a bit of luck at top 2.

Those clubs might have some expectations from the top.

We should be aiming for first. Anything less than promotion is a failure. As is relegation this season.

We ought to be aiming for a swift return. That's not being deluded or owt. We're Barnsley FC. We're historically a second tier club. It's where we've spent the vast majority of our time, especially the last few decades. But even taking into account the shifting sands etc, if we're accepting we can no longer punch at our own level, I'd suggest we're one of the six biggest clubs in the division below. So aye, we'd surely be aiming for top six and hopefully promotion. If that makes me arrogant or silly, then that's what I must be.

Second biggest club after the B****s - if we show the right level of ambition.

So lets put the 'Abandon all hope, all ye who enter here' signs up then

FFS- comes to somert when a footy fan can't be optimistic at the beginning of the season. You are Danny Wilson and I claim my prize.

We should be aiming for the two automatic promotion places especially if we keep our better players.

Love the club to come out with Statements about
    Cranie, Jennings and O'grady.

Anyone on more than say 5k apart from them three the club should be be looking to give away.

We need to be keeping Steele, Dawson, TK. Bobby and JOB too. We've got the makings of a pretty good team.

Only one I would want to keep O'Brien out of those.

Steele, Anyone that watches Steele will see he's some way off. It's every department thats well off. The defenders are getting clearly annoyed with him. M'Voto in each of the last 4/5 games as not been happy with him. In the first half he cleared the ball 6 yards out because Steele didn't come. M'Voto ****** off.

Dawson??????? He gets a lot of stick especially from fans away from Oakwell. Some haven't forgiven him for the Huddersfield stuff

Hassell, No chance. Trust me, I've seen him play this season a few times for the u21's.

Kennedy? maybe because we need two left backs and he could be in the squad. I think he gets a lot of stick and sometimes it's because the movements awful in front oh him. He's got to go with what he can see. A lot depends on George Smith for me if he stays. If Wilson thinks Smiths good enough then he'd be gone for me.

O'Brien, I like that type of wide man. A bit like Valencia for Manchester United.

Steele has been our most consistent player since Xmas but we'll leave that there. I really rate Dawson and I think Danny does too so I am pretty sure he'll still be here. Tom K is nowhere near as bad as some make out, he has shown that he can be effective with a decent player in front of him in midfield. If we can keep the core of the squad together and let Danny bring some decent players in to replace **** like ping-pong, German Nick, Mellis and Woods then we have a good chance.

That's nobody then. You've named the three highest earners. They're the three we'll end up flogging most probably.

Me and a friend were talking about and we both thought we need to keep about 16 and then bring in about 8ish over the summer.
Ben and the manager needs to get the balance right between get fresh faces but not over doing it and it taking months for the team to gel.
