What then - a ban on anyone entering or leaving the country? I suppose that’s ok if Sage can work out a way for us all to live off a diet of dust.
All I know is Boris better not expect folk to be banging pots and pans and clapping for a NHS he and his party have once again shafted! This time he's shafted us all and a message needs to be sent. His new red wall Tories aren't putting up much of fight for their constituents either.
2 week quarantine followed by a mandatory negative test for anyone entering the country, with the exception of business travel, where they must have the app installed which tracks their movement and interactions. Then test everyone they came into contact with. Or if these mythical 90 minute tests happen, use them.
It's too widespread in the UK now. How long would you have to have a complete lockdown to eradicate the virus from our shores? The collateral damage of such a policy would be far higher than any good it did.
I think we all agree non of us want a lockdown but its needed and we all know why. If you think Boris' handling of this is bad wait until January, I've not got a crystal ball and I'm no mystic Mullet but sh*tshow will be a polite way of putting it.
I think the cabinet should all sit down together and watch the 1976 film Logan's Run to get some ideas for the future.
Absolutely, don’t be fooled anyone into thinking I want a lockdown. I just think it’s absolutely necessary.
One lad I know has gone to Rome for a few days with his Mrs - he got tested at the airport when he landed and it was returned within an hour as negative. Don't know what he'd have done if he'd have tested positive, the daft sod.
Even if we did what you call a "proper" lockdown the virus would still be prevalent in the UK after 3 weeks. All another lockdown would do is buy more time, at a hell of cost.
The only place in the world where the virus seemingly hasn't resurfaced is the only place in the world that didn't have a lockdown Ironic
Well yeah, the aim isn't to eradicate it but peg it back to prevent it becoming unmanageable. A further break may be necessary, but the gaps between them should grow longer and longer as an element of her immunity establishes. I'm not pretending it's a magic answer, but if we're going to do some form of lockdown then I think a short, defined break is more manageable financially and psychologically than having the current wishy washy system for an undefined period
Can’t see how they have said all the way through they were following scientific advice and then suddenly chuck it because it didn’t suit and get away with it. Starmer should have done this ages ago coming come up with a definite idea and putting it as forcefully as possible. BUT if they do, do this ‘circuit breaker folk should bite the bullet stop looking for ways round it thinking they are being clever.
How about a 7 months off, no weeks on basis? Probably going into liquidation early in the New Year. Thanks to Johnson.
