Angela Raynor. I think would capture the working class again. Especially over Keir Starmer, she knows what it’s like to live like the vast majority of labour voters. And the way she nearly twatted Nigel Farage during the under 30 debate was brilliant television.

I think for the majority of this election campaign she’s come across very well, and this new version of her I definitely would.

    The policies weren't the problem.

Jess Philips. God no. I do think it will be a Woman. Emily Thornberry would be my choice but she’ll be seen as too London centric. Not good for the northern disaffected. Angela Rayner is capable but sounds too much like Bet Lynch. Not good for southern progressives. I’d take a punt on Rebecca Long Bailey coming through the middle.

I dint vote, but watched many a debate, thought Angela Raynor spok well and argued points very well, dunt know difference between left an centre, so apart from saying she was a great spokesperson for Labour,i dunt know.

Richard Burgon may be a runner. From Leeds, family involved in the miners strike. May connect well with northerners. I'd add him to the other names mentioned.

Shenk , get it out of your head that these papers are defining labours predicament, the sales of both these rags are poor in labour heartlands, in fact all newspaper sales are a fraction of what they were even 5 or 10 years ago and social media is awash with claptrap from both sides of the fence.
People keep blaming right wing media for corbyns demise,if all the stuff about him was untrue he'd have had somebody for slander these past few weeks

sorry that just not true. Yes circulation is declining but they are still the principle source of news for many.

as for suing anyone you have to be incredibly rich to do so and the Murdoch / Dacre empire have the best lawyers in the world who advise in what can and can’t be said.

Having said that the next 10 years should be fun. The NHS will clearly be gone. I’d imagine Nearly all jobs will be zero hours with zero terms and conditions. Maybe working class people need to see absolute rock bottom to organise and revolt. Whatever happens to the north now is exactly what we deserve. We can’t blame southerners it’s on us. Interesting times.

So sad to see them lose their seats, but they are the collateral damage from the wider malaise of disconnected voters and Brexit. Pidcock will hopefully back

i've been a newsagent for 23 years and can catagorically tell you that newspapers are not the principle source for many,as you put it, my newsheet is a 10th of what it was 10 or 15 years ago and every single shopkeeper i know is in the same boat.. Sales to under 50 years old are practically no existant and i know this not only because of my own shop but from being a member of the newsagents federation
As for Corbyn, well imo being leader of the labour party would give him access to a decent lawyer and funds to persue for damages.Scargill did it so i see no reason corbyn cant
