EGS in Wakefield was decent but never felt the Barnsley one matched it. And there was another really good record shop in Wakefield on the Bullring but can't remember what it was called but remember talking my mum through to Wakey to go shopping and dragging her in there so I could buy Moving Pictures by Rush on the day it was released!
EGS was a lot bigger than Casa Disco though, that was a tiny shop, it did stay open longer than EGS though so most people must have agreed with you.
I think Play could be in trouble, they've gone off the radar somewhat and the government have closed the Jersey tax loophole, I think the previous owners sold it just in time.
I tend to use CD Wow, although last couple of albums I bought I downloaded, I figured that given I just rip to my MP3 player and to a memory stick for in the car there wasn't much point buying the CD.
What about Marys Records in the upstairs market....is that still there? Used to get some good second hand singles from there. You can see where my music tastes lie when I say I've only ever bought a handful of CDs but still have loads of single, albums and picture discs (I got them from Casa Disco too). Nowt to play them on though
