Matter of opinions mate, clearly you have yours and I have mine. I personally have seen enough from him to think he is nowhere near L1 level and I don't see him hitting the required level any time soon.
How much have you seen on him ? ,as he as not played in that many first team games. Watch 21s I've seen some good players in there ,they need to be brought through to the first team ,but need a bit more support than they currently get . Nathan James looks quality ,but our coaches in the stands will put a stop to that.
There's such a gulf between 21s football and league 1 though. We've a lot of young players like Nathan James, Yoganathan and maybe even Jalo (though to a lesser extent) who would benefit from a loan move to league 2 or the national league. Maybe even NLN. As it's much more of a real experience compared to playing 21s football. That's what will stop them developing, the lack of men's football experience.
Seen a lot of the games he's played in first team. Look Marsh isn't totally useless and he's far better than I have ever been but from what I've seen he's just not good enough for this level. Lots of lads do well in our u21s and other teams u21s but never make that step up. Sadly for Marsh, in my opinion he's not successfully made that step up and is one we need to move on and replace. Others like Nathan James you mentioned need to be given chances to play as and when the manager thinks they are really and hopefully they break into the team and stay there
And your experience at playing football ,my level was Eldon youth Barugh Green got injured and retired at 23 . It's OK to comment if your experienced at a better level than me. Apologies if you have ,but jesus give the boy a chance for ffs.
Didn’t he make he is debut 3 years ago. That seems a lot of chances. Seems a great lad hope he makes it byt time is running out.
He did but suffered a hamstring injury which meant operation. He went on loan to scunny broke a toe in second game. Went on loan to to York . Returned to be thrown under the bus. Give him a break
I honestly don’t know how you’ve come to that conclusion. At best he’s been given 20 mins here or there and the odd game in much changed sides in cup games. That’s hardly being given a chance. I’m not sure he’s gonna make it but I think he needs to be given the chance to prove himself and that has to be from a regular run of games.
He's been at the club years and never locked down a spot. Manager after manager has seen him and he doesn't get games. I've seen him play enough times to know he's not this level and obviously the managers during his time gave thought the same.
My take on Marsh. He's only 21. He isn't owt sparkling but he tries. He'll run around because he's desperate to wear the shirt and that's what we want at minute starting with Cosgrove and Watters because we've nowt better. If we make some signings all well and good. Cross bridges when we get to them. However, until Mbappe signs I'm more than happy for him to stake his claim.
How good I was doesn't impact my ability to judge someone I've seen play. I played Sunday league, was crap and then got a nasty injury at 15 and basically just played 5 a side ever since. Doesn't mean I can't form an opinion on a player I've seen a number of times that I don't think is good enough. You and others may well disagree and that's fine. I'm just saying in my own opinion he's not good enough and we need better
If ember David Horst you could tell the first few games he played that he was **** hot then we sold him. I hope it all clicks for marsh but I,m not holding my breath.
No disrespect Nathan ,but what level of football did you play. Opinions are OK,, but countless times Disco said to me I can't beleive the toxic atmosphere in Oakwell. 1998 in the Premier league the fans were 100% behind the team. We reached levels not expected due to the positive atmosphere. Wish we could raise them levels once more to get these players who want to play for the team.
