Age probably does come into it yes.. But we have a club full of 20 year old maybes why would you want to bring in another? Would he start Infront of Watters and Cosgrove.. Would he be an improvement on Marshy Dyer and the lad who got 3 at Guiseley ? If theyre no better than what is already here and aren't ready to start first team games, what's the point..

 

Seen Marsh twice now and he isn't the answer unless we're going to be more direct. He reminds me of Danny Rose. Fox in the box but pretty redundant if you aren't creating goalmouth scrambles.

Do you think Marsh, young Dyer, or even Watters for that matter would score 13 goals in league 2?

How do you know he's not an improvement on what we have already? Only one way of finding out.

What targeting 3 forwards really means is we’re taking it into a 4th month of failing to prepare for the season ( 3 in a row now), we could all see it was needed.
Before toady and rest jump on yes there are other factors but as a pro club we should be making things happen.
Can’t wait for the usual 4 or 5 bed wetters jumping on saying do you not think they were trying?

 

So are we finally admitting our academy is expensive waste of time..
Marshy is our 'one of our own' big hope isn't he the clubs put 10 years into him haven't they ?
Better tell Neerav and JAQ to keep their 5 million in there pocket and shut the academy down ..what white elephant it is when we bring in other clubs young failures Infront of those that are already here.

 

Wasn’t at a great level before us with York, Hamilton, Shrewsbury, MK etc.

A waste of time cos I said one player from there isn't good enough?

We have some real talent in there coming through that will play for this club in the coming years. Some though, like Marsh wont be good enough and that's life. Every academy system in the world is the exact same.

No club on earth has an academy that constantly churns out top player after top player.

Marsh has been here 10 years or so, but I bet he has not cost the club a great deal in that time, plus big money earned from the likes of Stones, Holgate, Bree and Butterfield etc. in the modern era will have covered those costs

 

Hard to say for a 21 year old, if we signed Jalo from another league one club for £300/400k would you be happy?

 

That would be great apart from us putting decent low crosses in the box

 

Exactly mate, thats why I try not to comment too much before having a proper look. Unbelievable player for us and Luton now

 

Watters scored 13 in 15 for Crawley in division 2.

Even with the sales of all those players, of which none are recently, I reckon our academy will be millions out of pocket since we started it.

 

Someone had a dream or a vision that a full squad of players would take to the pitch from our academy. I think it must have been Susan Boyle.

 

It's about how high your expectations are.. mine are not that high actually. I get that we dont have much money to spend but neither have most at our level. Just bring in a bit better than we already have. If the best our recruitment team can do after four months is matey boy from WBA, then this window may turn out to be even worse than last..If that is too high an expectation for some of you then I hope you enjoy our mediocrity.
