Flicker made the point of saying he is ready to play Premiership football now which is fairly smart comment meaning "You're not just buying potential, you're buying a quality player who will continue to get better" - thus increasing his value.
Only sell for 5 million up front, 25% sell on fee, loan back & good fee's for U21 & full England caps...and I've never been more serious!! The kid is that good and only getting better!
'Barnsley FC have agreed a fee with [insert club] for the services of their 18 year old defender John Stones. The fee which is undisclosed........' Nailed on.
Whitey....previous experience says you will be spot-on. BUT......surely BFC take this opportunity to get fans back on-side (which is what Flicker & team are doing so well at the moment) and proudly announce the fee.
5m or nothing ,we dont need to sell him and shouldnt on the cheap. let the teams who want him start a bidding war if they are that keen, for once the balls in our court.
Telling you now. IF we stay up, we'll seriously regret selling him for £3m. His stock is rising every game. He'll be worth double that by the end of next season. Anything less than £3m is daylight robbery. The thing is, we'll never know. 'Undisclosed'.
The offer is probably 1.5 million a slight increase from the original so nothing to worry about as even The Don knew to turn down whatever it was.
I say **** it. The lad stones is gonna be a a full international. Look at palace they sell a player for what 8milion. Its about time the reds slapped a 10million tag on him Get some of the shitty clubs out of the frame and if the bigger guys want him then let him go for 10 million plus add ons. we need him more than the pissy 3million or 5million being thrown around. Get the tag slapped on him now,
Agree about time BFC grew some Balls and stood up to the vultures for once. We hold all the cards this time.. hes on a long contract, a local lad and not wanting away. Even if we lose a million and dont break even we have to look at him as an assett.
"Looks sure to be accepted" - we're used to phrases like that from the Chronicle, all opinion with no actual research so I wouldn't read too much into that. The club surely know the fans won't accept being shafted on yet another transfer - unlike the others, Stones has no release clause and a long contract, I'm hoping that's the only reason we've seen players go for 20% of their true value in the past. If they've buckled on some ridiculous deal which only reaches something like £2m depending on things that may happen in the future then we should be down there on Friday with a gallows erected outside the main reception for whoever is responsible. All our deals tend to be undisclosed but with a transfer to a PL club it's generally not that hard to find out the transfer fee. Like others, £3m would have been good a week a go, but he's been so jaw droppingly good since then I'd be saying £5m and take anything over £3.5m if it's all up front.
